  Shout out to our Loan Officer Steve Walker! We have worked with Steve since 2018 when we purchased our condo in DC. Steve’s professionalism, responsiveness and attention to detail is second to none. Whenever we are looking to purchase a property in The DMV or Pennsylvania, Steve is always our go to Loan Officer!   The team at NIHFCU are the best in the business. When Almaz who is fantastic was out I’ll Sylvia jumped right in and got everything done for me in a fast and professional manner! This is the best financial institution I have ever dealt with. Most importantly these people really care!

  NIH federal Union is a very great bank to pay off bills, refinance and buy property such as vehicles and homes, etc. I would recommend this bank service to anyone who wants to have better living situation. Thanks.

  Update: Due to my review, I had an extremely pushy and rude person call me today in a sorry attempt to try to get me to change my review. As I said before, this establishment is more akin to a controlling spouse than a credit union. Worst customer service I have ever experienced with a bank or credit union. NIHFCU makes everything more difficult than it should be. They treated my money like it was their own. Any time I needed anything more than a few hundred dollars, it was like having ask a controlling spouse to give you some money. Among the events I can recall, NIHFCU disabled debit card access (for system maintenance) a few days before Christmas! They gave zero warning, and I had to look like a deadbeat, having my card declined while shopping for presents. They did everything they could to prevent me from wiring money for a down-payment on my home while closing. They prevented me from paying for my central air install, even though I had over ten times the required funds. Once in awhile, I would get a pleasant customer service rep, but this was a rarity, and not the norm. To sum things up, they are just one more example of the controlling and elitist attitude that prevails in Maryland. Avoid this credit union at all costs. If you have no other options, I recommend keeping your money under your mattress.

  Chris Asis has been a pleasure to work with at NIH. He is very professional and has excellent customer service skills. He went above and beyond to make sure all my needs were met. The entire staff is phenomenal!!!

  Great all around experience across many products with nih fcu, including personal accounts, car loan, investment and credit card. Appreciative of the personalized service on the infrequent occasion I visit the branch in person. Easy and convenient with free (with validation) garage parking
