Millionair Investor3This company is okay. Used to owe 300,000 after graduation. I think it takes me 100 years to pay it off bc my interest is 8-11%. So lucky i did balance transfer and used that $ to invest. Cov19 showed up and it caused stock market to crash in 2020..so lucky i bought many cheap stocks and pay back all my loans within 2 years. I think i am a good investor and better than warren buffet :) .

Daniel Budde II1Originally all my student loans were consolidated under Sallie Mae, but either Navient bought my loans or Navient acquired Sallie Mae and that is how I became their customer. I have been a good customer for at least 14+ years and I have always paid my loan payments. Recently a family member of mine offered to give me a 0% interest loan until I finish paying them back and they were being very nice to me. I accepted their offer and they gave me the funds to pay off my student loans. I contacted Navient on Jan 25th and made my final payment to them to pay off the loans. I also worked with the Navient representative to make sure my Auto-Pay was disabled. They assured me it was. On Jan 28th I happened to be looking at my checking account and I noticed there was a pending charge from my Navient Auto-Pay which was supposed to be disabled. It was a Sunday, so I had to wait until Monday for them to be open for me to talk to them. On Jan 29th I called Navient and talked to their representative. They proceeded to inform me that they had to wait until the charge cleared and then issue me a refund check and it could take up to 30 days to complete the process. Needless to say I was very angry and pointed out that this was their screw up and they needed to fix it. They took an unauthorized payment and it was on them to fix. They put me on hold and then came back to me a couple minutes later and said they could not do anything from their end. One side note, I am actually a programmer and I regularly program payment systems. EVERY payment system hooks into some sort of payment gateway and it is definitely possible to VOID a pending transaction. When you cannot VOID it, you can issue a REFUND instead. So, the representative proceeds to tell me that I can call my bank and ask them to stop the payment. A stop payment costs extra at most banks unless you report the payment as unauthorized or as fraud. So, Navient was putting the ball back in my court and not handling THEIR mess. I called my bank and reported the payment as an unauthorized payment. Their process to undo this was 2 days, which is incredibly shorter than Navient's process.

PoliSciFi Blog1Can't give'em zero stars, unfortunately. The worst company I have ever dealt with. They WILL unilaterally change your payment plan if you overpay on the principle to reduce the time of the loan and the interest paid (because the interest rate is stupid high). Customer service is nothing but a hassle, and everything is intentionally organized to increase your costs, make it more difficult to resolve problems, and keep your debt in service as long as humanly possible. I cannot begin to describe the depths of my disdain for this company.

Greg Rosenberg1It's unfortunate we can't give zero star ratings. I believe Navient is a company ran by a group of greedy crooks who try their best to hire the most idiotic, incompetent people on the planet. Greedy Crooks: I took out three student loans. Navient was the ONLY one that would lower my monthly payment (without my permission) when I would make occasional large payments. They would do this so they wouldn't lose any interest from me. This BS move would make it harder to pay off my student loan early. I called 3 different times and complaint. They said sorry and then would do it again and again. Idiotic, Incompetent Staff: I would complain and their staff would tell me that they will make sure my monthly loan payment would go back to $80ish for the following month. Last week I looked at my bill. I was expecting to see $80ish, but I saw $40ish and remembered that I was dealing with the most idiotic people on the planet. Frustrated, I made a $900 payment to get Navient out of my life for good. AVOID NAVIENT AT ALL COST!!

Daniel Danko1Most unhelpful, money-hogging company out there. Paid them over $31,500 in interest to service my loans over the last 11 years. Provided no customer support, no interest reduction relief for timely payments, and were just the most depressing company to ever do business with.

Michael M1I followed the directions that were provided by Navient, when filling out an income driven repayment application. Months later, I was told that it was not done correctly. I was then told to go to student loans.gov. and do another application. I did what the woman at student loans.gov told me to do. Then, Navient said I did not fill out the application correctly. I just sent my third application in. While this is happening, Navient is adding a ton of fees to my account. It's a setup, you do what they tell you, so you fail and they get more fees and interest. They get away with it, because it's backed by the government. There is no customer service, they don't care they just want your money.

Julius Murphy1I've moved away from my mother house 7 years ago and they still have the wrong number. I've updated my phone number at least every other month and paid ahead of time, mostly. But the days I don't it's because they did not process it and call the wrong number. When I call them to ask why a payment was not process, theymthey give run me the run around.

Dave Krug1I strongly dislike this company. No one specifically here pissed me off. They have my loan (which is in good standing btw). My big complaint is that they don't let you make student loan payments via credit card. Most other companies that I've worked with for my other government student loans allow that. This is a big no no which is why i give them only 1 star. I'm sure they have an explanation as to why they only do withdrawals directly from your bank account, but I don't care and I'm pretty sure they don't care about my complaint lol. Lastly, their call center is probably overseas somewhere, so the people there probably didn't care about my complaint (about them not taking credit cards) - that's how it seemed to me. Oh well.

Laura Gapczynski1Locked out of account every time and have had to re-register, even though I have saved the password online, in writing, etc. Cannot log on no matter what I try. They say they do not have my account, but I owe them and want to pay on time. This happens every month and I hate them for it. Hate, hate, hate this horrible company who seems to sabotage the customers by locking them out. I pay an enormous amount of bills online, so having this happen and take up hours of my time is unacceptable. The worst online experience I have ever had!

A5Student loans have been the bane of my existence for over a decade now. For the first time ever, a loan officer after me in regards to my loan payments was awesome. He did not have the typical pestering attitude I have experienced with other companies. He explained a lot of what I did not understand in regards to my loans. He went over my options and was very knowledgeable. Chad Womack was the representative who just made my year! He worked with me until I understood everything and took the time to set me up with a repayment option that fits within my budget. Thank you Chad Womack! (Give him a raise!)
