  Service is extremely slow! Customer service over the phone, wait times are longer than an hour. Service is not efficient. It’s like they have one person working each station in the bank. Lines are long. It’s ridiculous. Save yourself a headache. Go to the location downtown Brooklyn they will see you in 20 minutes.

  I came in for my appointment to open up an account. And I was greeted by a representative who quickly sat me down to start the process. The representative (wish I remembered his name, but it started with a J., and he was a young Indian guy) was incredibly professional, friendly, patient as I gathered my documents, and answered all of my questions. When he was unsure about something, he double checked and asked his colleagues, which I appreciated. It was my very first time opening up a credit union account, and I thought it was gonna be low quality service, but it was the exact opposite. Thank you, J, for making the experience easy and less daunting. Will recommend this particular branch to my friends and family.

  Mcu banks deserve zero stars, worse bank I've ever experienced. Their is always a issue with the ATM's, to call to speak to someone on the customer service line is ridiculously long. I have to wait up to an hour almost everytime to speak with a representative. Something seriously needs to be done.

  I just left the Elmont Branch and the management is getting progressively worst. I was in the bank at 3:45 pm, with the line outside the door, and only one teller was at the window. When I asked to speak with the manager as to why there was only one teller working when there are so many people on line, I was told that the manager is having a meeting with the tellers. It speaks volumes of the manager's skills and even more of a failure to recognize that customers vote with their feet and I'll be joining them.

  Did not like the fact that they use a ticket system to do any type of transaction. Even to speak to a customer service representative. Wanted to speak to an account representative and I had to wait 50 minutes to be seen for a transaction that took only 6 minutes to complete. The account representative I did speak with was friendly and knowledgeable. I prefer to go to other MCU branches over this one in the future.

  I came into the Elmont branch to with my elderly mother so she could apply for a loan. Everything was fine until the member told us to wait 20 mins so she could talk to a loan officer, We waited for almost an hour, then transferred to another member. Only for them to deny her because her photo ID expired a few months ago. That should have been the first thing we were told by the previous member. This isn't an isolated incident either, the last time I was there someone was upset because of waiting times.

  They should treat their staff better. Generous overtime on holidays would be a start, since all the staff call out sick. Had to wait two hours to withdraw money. Update: They made the check out to no one, so now I need to go back.

  If I could give zero stars I would. This has to be the WORST branch in the entire city of New York! The ATM machines never work, never! They had the nerve to remove the ATMs from inside, but leave us with three outside ATMs that NEVER work. As I stand online now waiting, there is a line two blocks down to use the ATM machines at this location. Fire the branch manager and whoever is responsible for this horrible location

  Horrible credit union with horrible service. Tellers have an attitude, as though it was a chore for them to have to work and serve customers. Coin sorting machine is always broken, always. It hasn't been in service in months. They have a unprofessional security guard or some sort of ghetto concierge who sends some sort of insurance broker who trolls the establishment looking for clients to people there on line waiting to do business. What a horror show. NY State took over control after several scandals spanning several administrative management teams committed financial crimes. The last CEO of this place stole bank money to gamble with. To the tune of millions. Horrible place. Cannot believe the level of unprofessionalism from everyone who works here. The place is always understaffed with only one teller serving dozens of customers while others are chatting or eating at the counter. This is the most ramshackle and ghettoest of financial institutions.

  I’m not sure why MCU is so desirable to must people. They have an antiquated system of doing everything. They have horrible customer service. They do not have 24 hour customer service. At any given time, calling into their customer service line you will be on hold for a minimum of 30 minutes. I’d rather pay the fees of a mainstream bank than to have my entire payroll go to MCU and be subject to the horrible service that they provide.
