It’s always interesting/entertaining to read other peoples reviews on a place, and almost all of the negative reviews are based on the reviewers own problems and mistakes, and are not reflective of the actual business 🤦🏼‍♀️ Things like your credit score or history with other credit unions, or your lack of financial responsibility have nothing to do with Mountain Crest Credit Union, or their associates. A review of a business should be related to how the company treats it’s customers and provides whatever service it is responsible for. We have held car loans with MCCU for several years, and have never had issues with customer service or judgmental and condescending behavior from its associates. I call in our payment every single month and speak with one of the three employees that that usually answer calls, and they always pick up immediately, and are very pleasant and helpful. The one aspect of their business that can be quite irritating, is the barrage of phone calls each member of the account receives on their personal phone, as well as their workplace, if they are only a few days late on a payment. They will call you in the morning and the night, and every single day after that, until they get ahold of you, or you make the payment. I understand WHY they do this, but the grace period should be a little bit longer, and reflective of that members past payment history. If we have been customers for several years, are never more than 7 days late on a payment (for whatever reason), and always honor our commitment on the debt, then I don’t think we should be treated like irresponsible or “risky” customers. I am not a person of color, nor am I in a relationship with a person of color, but I have never observed any mistreatment to others by MCCU, based on their race. This is not saying that they don’t, but I have never personally seen it. If those claims are true, I hope those individuals take the necessary actions, and provide proof that it is happening. That is never acceptable and should be addressed and resolved in order to make real changes within our society. All that to say, Mountain Crest Credit Union should not be “avoided like the plague”, in my opinion. I believe they offer competitive rates and excellent customer service. I DO think that the member website needs improvement and made more user friendly.

Biden privatized deal when you don’t have insurance. Over $1,000 for a month’s coverage, AFTER I reinstated with another company. Because they failed to provide paperwork I needed to sign. Then said I owed & canceled. So instead of $1,200 for a year. The BS insurance they got was $1,000 for 30 days. So $2,200 for 13mos coverage.

I used to have a checking account with this CU and closed it on good terms. I came back several months later to see about reopening it and was denied, I was told I owed another bank money and once I get that paid off they will gladly reopen a checking account. Fast forward a couple weeks, I get the past debt paid off, apply online and attach a receipt showing the debt being paid but they denied my application anyways. Called up and spoke to a Michele who was very rude and said we don't have to tell you why they wont open an account and then just said they wont open it because of my credit history... Don't waste your time with these people and go somewhere else.

This is the worst credit union I have ever been with. The last few years their service has plummeted. The "too big to fail" banks I used to belong to never used to make me have to spend hours on the phone to customer service so I could access my own money! In the last three years alone I have had to be reissued debit cards because Mtn Crest can't keep my money secure from hackers (Target breach), mistakenly thought my account had been compromised simply because I went on vacation for two months in another state and didn't tell them (apparently, you have to call them and tell them of your movements so they don't think the transactions are suspicious--how "Big Brother" of them), and then they decided to issue chip cards. I hate this credit union with a passion, and am switching to TwinStar so they can give me solutions, rather than vomiting policy at me when I want to access my money when I move or travel. Avoid MountainCrest Credit Union like the plague--there are much better credit unions you can join out there, and you don't even have to be local to do it thanks to shared branching. Goodbye and good riddance MountainCrest!

Lacking customer service is only the first thing on my list for this establishment. Racist as well because I had a black man with me there were little to no words spoken while they opened my account which mind you is now closed a week later because they kicked me out. Then to bash me about what is on my credit report after they had already opened and then closed my account. What a joke this place is. Ill keep my account with a more established diverse customer friendly bank. Thanks for nothing. It's places like this that keep the financial world in a downward spiral.

They are the sweetest - they always explain things, don't rush, and are nice to my little puppy. I give 4 stars and not 5 because the website is a little tough to use. They fix that up, make it easier for me to pay online, and I will change that rating to a 5!

This place is very racist. It should be called White People's Credit Union.

Treats me better than any big bank EVER has. Also, is part of a credit Union network, so still have all the convenience of a big chain (just got to look up what local members are when you're out of town).

We have banked with this Credit Union for many years. We have found them to be everything and more that we need. They have always gone out of their way to be friendly, efficient and helpful.
