  The day the rule change took effect that allowed me to help on the refinance, I reached out to Phil to give him the good news. I had been waiting for this rule change day for a while (I wanted the rule to actually go into effect and not get changed at the last minute before making the good news call). Phil was a fantastic borrower; very prompt with documents and asked as many questions as he needed to ask until he was comfortable to make a decision. Thank you for the kind words, Phil!

  I first met Melanie in march 2014 after we had relocated to Lynchburg Va. to be near our daughter for our twilight years. I am a member of the Navy Federal Credit Union and I approached them to help me with a loan. Sure enough they would give me a 3% loan and it would only cost me $7,500 dollars at closing which would save me $80.00 a month on the mortgage payment. Sounds good doesn’ It. My daughter said you need to call Melanie she has helped me to save thousands of dollars with investment planning. So I did. Wow was I surprised. She did the math and showed that if we finance the loan at 4.5% the bank would pay me $44.16 at closing saving me the $7,500 dollars. Wahoo time to buy a newer used car. Time marches on to September 2018 and I am now 72 years young. A new lender has assumed my loan and and they tell me i have $12,800 equity in the house. So i start the process and they are pleased and proud to give me a rate of 5.25 % rate on the new loan. That seems a little high so I call Melanie. She laughs and says we will refinance at 4.5% which means I will get $15,300 vice the other amount. Basically they are stealing $3,000 dollars of my equity. The moral of the two tales is lenders are in the business to make money not to help you. What I like about Melanie is she will always work the deal to get me the maximum amount of money for me. Yeaa!!!
