MidWest America Federal Credit Union - Scottsville Office Reviews

Joanna McInnis1If I could give zero stars I would. I had account with them for 2 years give or take. Through the 2 years it was none stop issues. I could never get decent customer service and it seemed like they couldn't take accountability for anything. My card was constantly put on hold until I could get in touch with the fraud department. Then they stop my cards and I have to get a new one. Now all of sudden after being told to not use my account until things were looked into. I get my account canceled with out my knowledge for inactivity. Then you have to deal with how rude they become when you voice your concerns or anger. It's just an all around bad company.

Crystal Dillingham1I had to give it one star in order to review or I would not have given it any. This place has zero customer service.

Shelby Priddy1I firmly believe they do not even deserve one star. I would give them zero stars but that wasnt an option. This company is the most terrible company I have ever worked with before in my life. They say one thing then do another. They say something is taken care of then of course it isnt. They have terrible customer service and make the process of doing something nearly impossible. I refinanced my car with this company in September of 2017 and am STILL doing paper work for it and every single day take time out of my day to try to fix whatever the heck is going on here. After over 6 months of doing paper work im about fed up with them and about to take my business elsewhere. I would rather be paying what I was paying before with Chase bank than have to deal with these people that give no craps about their customers.

Kelsey Washburn1I didn't think about a car payment until I got my title and went to file it and saw that it was 05/24/16 and my first payment date was 05/15/16. My payment was now 9 days late but I hadn't received ANY financial paperwork. The next morning on 5/25 I call the car lot and they said they would call Midwest American FCU and see what was going on. After not hearing back and failing to make contact (holiday weekend) I called back Tuesday (5/31) morning. The financial guy at the car lot said he left 3 voicemails and assumed someone had gotten back with me. He tried calling again and only got voicemail again. Tuesday night I get home and find my "coupon book" from Midwest in the mail, the first payment was due 5/15/16 and the coupon book was postmarked 05/26/16, the day after the car lot contacted them. This morning (6/1) I called the bank since my payment was due over two weeks ago and I put a check in the mail last night. I was forwarded to collections because that is where my loan was already and got to talk to Shaun, a female in collections who is also mentioned on Yelp. She was rude and condescending to me just as she was the other reviewer. She said that no one ever called about this as they always return voicemails. I told her that the car lot called on 5/25 and the coupon book mailed on 5/26 and that seems too strange to just be a coincidence, she said I know it seems that way but it's not. She told me that the loan had only processed on May 4th so she is not surprised I am just now getting the coupon book. I purchased the car on March 31st so I felt that this was a long time between 3/13 and 5/26 when they were mailed. I told Shaun that I was not happy this was late as I am now making a double payment and having to deal with this mess and calling to deal with late fees and having to make sure this isn't reported against me for credit reasons and she told me that I should have been more financially responsible and set aside the money for the payment that I knew was coming and it is my fault for not contacting the credit union sooner because I should have known to make a payment on May 15th (forget the fact that I never received one piece of paperwork from them) and that I have no idea what goes on behind the scenes after I leave the car lot. I told her that it is not my responsibility to remind the credit union to do their job, I am obviously financially responsible as I just made a double payment but others might not be as fortunate as my husband and I. I have also worked at a bank and my husband sold cars so I know the exact process. She just came back with the same thing of it's my fault and that there was a financial hold up or lapse somewhere (although not the fault of the credit union) and continued to insult the car lot and myself. She then tells me that despite all this they will still waive the late fee. I said of course you will this is your fault; I pay bills when I get them. I didn't have a mailing address or loan number how was I supposed to make a payment?! She said I still should have called and that they won't send me a bill every month so she hopes that isn't a problem! So condescending! She also said that I should have made payment over the phone instead of mailing it in because now she has to make a note for the Scottsville Branch to waive the late fee (sorry for making you do your job). Finally I just asked for her name, location and extension; so I could write a review of course. I called the car lot and spoke to the financial guy and he said he talked to the local branch and they admitted that it was their fault and that someone dropped the ball on processing my paperwork there. So the local branch will admit it but the Fort Wayne office kept insulting me and the car lot and saying it was the car lots fault and they are who I should be mad at. I had a follow up call an hour later from Linda Smith, the regional manager, and she just wanted to make sure I knew that they were waiving the late fee since the book was mailed late but it was due to a delay from the car lot and not at all their fault.

Korri Bishop1What a lackluster business. Never returning calls as promised. Don't take responsibility for their faults (which there are a lot of). Have the most out of date and inconvenient forms of payment. Some of the worst customer service, never apologizing or trying to rectify the situation. Can't wait to get the loan paid and stay away from this credit union.

Mary Nestor5Honestly if I could give ten stars I would. April Howard is so helpful that I can’t say enough good things about her. I also really enjoyed sitting down w the branch manager, Robert Drake. He helped address my concerns and was courteous and informative. Thank you.

Scott Parkison1It's no credit union. It's a bank only for it's members. They don't even know what union stands for. The drive thru lady with her snooty hello. No thank you. STAY AWAY!
