Merchants Acceptance Corporation Reviews

R. Wakefield1The worst and poorest customer service ever. After calling to change my payment date, FOUR different representatives messed up my account and charged my account on the wrong date, overdrafting my account. When I called about the mistake and it was acknowledged, they put in for my refund. Now a week later...After calling two other times this week being told the refund was processing and should be back in my account soon...find out nothing has been done and the manager hasn't signed it off yet. And now have to wait until manager is in (since it is his day off) And then give them up to 2 weeks. After being an on time paying customer for 2 YEARS and calling to keep my account in good standing. Not only do they mess up but have no sense of urgency to correct their mistake. Have never been more angry or disgusted with the lack of morals in a company !

DaShon Foster1Zero! 000000000! Horrible service!!! Never give this company your financial banking information. They take no responsibility or regard to what happens to your personal finances in their own or affiliates errors. Be aware if you are a current customer utilizing credit cards for payment you are now assessed additional fees on your credit card do to "Our Processors fault and not our own". You are being penalized for making on time payments via credit card and will not be compensated back for the additional loss of fees in which Merchants Acceptance and its Partners have created. Over a month later and multiple contacts by banks, this issue has not been resolved and management of MA will not return calls, messages or any other form of communication. Lawsuits are now pending! You all have horrible service, providing a terrible experience for not only your customers, but also, your employees. I can only imagine the abuse they have to take over the phone due to your asinine policies, procedures, and processes that are set by management in their incompetence.

Christa Kraus1I wish I could rate zero stars. This is the worst finance company I have ever dealt with. I bought a kirby vacuum and every month they try to tack on extra "fees" which they wave, but only if you call them out on it. If you ever have the displeasure of speaking to the "manager" John Porter, hang up and call another time. He is rude and extremely unprofessional, as when I asked what the extra fees were he laughed and said I should pay my bill on time next time but he has no problem tacking on another fee if I'd like.... I was appalled. Stay away from them at all cost! It's not worth the hassle of the phone tag and late fees because you can never get through to talk to someone about your account. Edit: The head director jarod did give me a call and resolved all issues with my account in a very polite manner. So the issues may just lie in the chance of who answers the phone

Astec Sea Digital1Worst Company Ever, 2 years ago my EX Fiance & I Financed a Kirby Vacuum. it was ALL a scam ! They told us that the Vacuum had a life time warantee & if it was ever damaged, we could take it to a repair shop & show them our contract & they would fix it for FREE , We did just that ... & The guy at the repair shop said that the Contract wasn't going to help us in any way, we had to pay 100$ out of pocket. We refused b/c we were already paying $1,200 for the Kirby, so we didn't think it was fair. We called the company multiple times & they did not want to helps us at all (Keep in mind that the main Rubber Belt that gets the vacuum going is what BROKE ! & Also, the Hose MELTED while i was using it to clean in between my couches . So there was no reason to pay a full $1,200 for a vacuum that didn't even last 2 months !! They have ALREADY garnished all of my Ex Fiance's Checks, but NOW, they are wanting to SUE US ! For what? If they already got the money they wanted by Garnishing his checks !!!! This company is horrible & it's all a scam !

The1NonlySavior1I've called a couple times trying to get an accurate account balance. I was told two different balances at two different times. The first was 100bucks less then the current one. I wrote it all down and should have one more payment. These guys somehow seemed to swindle an extra payment out of me. When I called the second time it was the same guy who supposedly talked to me the first time. Of course I'm wrong and they hold your financial information hostage. Buyer beware. Don't do business with this company. I can't understand how they sleep at night knowing they are employed by company that takes advantage of the less fortunate. Just think an extra payment from 100 people who are auto debited for three years at 100$ a pop is 10,000 bucks, and I'm sure they have over 100 different accounts. I wanted to pay off early but after reading countless reviews, it seems this place is habitual at taking advantage of people and only rectifying it when the BBB gets involved.they also place fees on your account that they don't tell you about. Even though it's all auto debit. So fees they don't tell you about that aren't warranted and extra Payments. These guys should probably be thoroughly investigated for fraud. Just FYI my account isn't delinquent and I have paid on time every month. Never missed a payment. These guys just take advantage of people. Will never do business again, and if I see a Kirby person selling anything around me I will warn them to run. These companies are just scammers. They sell you an inferior product for the most cash possible then put you on payments at a ridiculous interest rate with a third rate financial istitution. two companies being blood suckers of People who just don't know better, and don't have a lot of money. You can find kirbys all day at yard sales for like 100$. Pretty fair stretch of thousands of dollars. Yes I signed the contract. The thing about contracts with companies like these is they only expect the consumer who they swindled to uphold their side of said contract. They are never liable for anything, and you will get the complete run around. Just heming and hawing. They may pacify you if you push back. For the most part you are wrong and they will get their money. They say a sucker is born every minute, and unfortunately I was one of them. Just don't do it!

Caroline Lilly1I was supposedly served papers (I don't recall being served or signing for any court papers) to go to court for collections actions for a $1500 vacuum..needless to say, I didn't go because I wasn't informed of said court date. Didn't even know anything about it until I started getting garnished (wasn't even told by HR this was going to happen). They garnish me almost $2,000 (in 6 months) so I contact merchant acceptance so called "lawyer" and ask "what I can do to stop this?" And I am then informed "Make an offer and I will take it to the client because there is a balance of almost $6,000" WHOA!! WHAT?! Even after being garnished almost $2,000 I need to make an offer to make it just go away?! This stupid thing is STILL on my credit report (since 2011) as having a balance of a little over $1,800! Which is the beginning balance of the contract before the $2,000 that was taken!

Stella Burgener1Refuses to stop contacting me at work even though I asked them. According the the Fair Debt collection practices act they are no longer allowed to. Kevin by far is a jerk with no costumer service skills. Yes, Kevin it would be easier to pay you than report you to the consumer protection agency, the BBB, or write this review. However, I think I will do all four.
Response from the ownerWe believe this customer has the wrong company, we do not have an employee by the name of Kevin. We also do not have a customer on file under the name the review was written under. There are a few other companies in this industry with similar names of Merchants Finance, Merchants Credit.

E Morton3The times I've had to deal with them and talk to them over the phone their reps have been courteous and helpful. My only issue is the lack of providing account statements, which is just not right. If you have a loan or an account somewhere usually a statement is disclosed monthly. So they really need to update their system. No one wants to call in every time they have a question.
Response from the ownerPlease call me directly at 253-249-2517 and I can assist you with this. Thank you. Jarod Yoder Director of Business Operations.

Amy Moos1I have an old account from over 7 years ago that has been taken care of. I check my credit on Credit Karma weekly. I noticed that my score went down. I checked into it and this company just added a $56 increase onto a debt that I no longer owe!!! Im a single mother and have been working really hard to build my credit. This comapny is a fraud!
Response from the ownerI would need some more information to find your specific account so that we could look into this for you. In general terms I can tell you that we do not guarantee the reporting accuracy with any third party credit monitoring service; unless you are getting the information directly from one of the 3 major credit reporting agencies there is no way to validate it. It is not possible for an account that has been paid to increase in the amount owed, the only way that your balance could increase is if the account still has an outstanding balance and is accruing interest and/or late fee's. I would be happy to help if you want to contact me at 253-249-2517.
