  Hi Mike. Every financial institution has a check hold policy, and ours is outlined on your membership agreement with us. There are different hold time criteria. If you spoke to a representative at our Salem facility, they would have been happy to let you know what to expect with the particular transaction you made.   If you are looking for customer service this is not the bank! We have had an ongoing series of issues none our fault. For example, taking a certified check to be deposited from First Citizens and being told "it will be placed on hold because it may be counterfeit!" All the person had to do was call next door to First Citizens. Debit card compromised several times. Said it would be $20 to expedite a card. No customer service. Beware.

  Have banked here since I was a teenager working my first job. Have never had a single issue. Staff is always friendly and very quick. Whether opening an account, seeking a loan, or even if it's related to an account problem, they are always quick to help. I don't plan on ever leaving Memberone!

  I went to the drive through to deposit a check. When I do this I'm usually asked for my password before they give me the receipt with my balance and other private information on it......not this time ......I could have been a fisher aka a person looking for account info to use to commit fraud. I'm not happy about this at all ....I have a password and other security info for a reason. This makes me uncomfortable with using the Salem branch..the main branch close to downtown Roanoke is wonderful I have never had this problem there.

  Absolute worse possible Banking institution I have ever dealt with. From processes not the same for online deposits vs in the banking center. To paying off a $10K car loan, and never receiving a thank you. To your address correct online but the internal departments do not see it. There is one issue after another. If you do have a banking issue, call and ask for a manager. This apparently happens a lot, due to the reps asking multiple times to try and help. They generally cannot, and then on multiple cases for me, did not record my call so weeks later you are back at square one. I think keeping your money in a can in the back yard would be better than this institution.

  Member since 1968! Best branch in the valley! Staff is excellent, always pleasant and accommodating.
