MECU Credit Union - Commerce Center Branch Reviews

Dalton Slagle1Nope… deposited a check here. New checking account but I’ve been a member for years. Applied a 14 day hold (ten business days). 2 weeks before I can access the funds? Makes zero sense, they reduced the hold to 8 days out of convenience. Sent my debit card to the wrong address, the woman at this branch at first acknowledged this then said it was sent to the right address. Phone teller the next day said it was sent to the wrong address. What’re you people doing?

Eyal Mizrachi1They had covid interest only promo going for only 1 month, which I missed. My car loan is 600$ a month, I got furloughed from my job back in March 2020 and kept paying my 600$ instead of catching that promo. When I was struggling they said they have nothing to offer and let it go to collections. I have been paying on and off but no solution was offer on multiple occasions in oppose to Keybank which let me not pay interest free for 6 months. Other then that, I cancelled my insurance in a month I had to choose between food and insurance. I have had active insurance after that month, they added 440$ fee for not having it with no chance to cancel or lower it even when I tried and plead with them. Overall really evil institution that doesnt care about the working class. DO NOT TAKE A LOAN WITH THEM.

Armenthia Brown5This location has gotten better over time and I would definitely put it way above the one that’s located off of Route 40. Route 40 is the slowest MECU ever. Lack of great customer service. The location in Pikesville great customer service. Thank you very much.
Response from the ownerThank you for your review and being a valued member of MECU!

William Hamele5It's such a great feeling when you talk to someone and they hear what you are saying. My experiences with the people at MECU of Pikesville has been truly amazing. Whenever I stop in for business or banking, they always greet me with a smile and go above and beyond my expectations. Very polite, friendly and helpful with all my concerns.

BIG DEXX2There’s always a problem with the ATM’s ! Two or three of the locations are in unsavory areas not to mention the fact that locations are terrible when trying to access them ! Wish I had knew before hand I would have to drive so far just to get to an ATM to only find out it is either not working, not accepting cash deposits , not giving receipts or simply just not working . At least the customer service is 5 star but I rarely come in contact with them . Still , they are always great.

Sherna' Baldwin1Drove to Pikesville branch to avoid Seton and Catonsville branch due to poor customer service. I had fraud on my account none of representatives failed to mention or took in consideration of my direct deposits I have coming in my account. After my account was closed which I was I advised to wait until all pending transactions cleared then I remembered my several deposits coming in. I asked could they be redirected until new account I was told no. I had to wait a day to confirm what company tried to fraud my account nobody new account displayed $99 no name .The security/ greeter gave the best services each time I came felt like he belong in the back as a representative. The little short lady that worked there made it clear she was ready to go home when I was taken in the back. So I left with no debit card and had to pull money out for the 7-10 days wait for the card. In this day in time you would think they have a better system to accommodate their customers as some of the other Banks do when I card is lost, stolen or fraud of any kind. So thou they have good rates they lack in other caterogies . I will be looking for another bank for my personal funds and my business funds.
Response from the ownerHi Sherna', thank you for sharing your feedback and we are sorry to hear you were the victim of fraud. The security of your account and personal information is our top priority. We do offer the ability to receive an instant ATM card in our branches and will ensure our team members are proactively offering that as an option for situations such as this. Thank you for being a member.

Arn Tinsley2MECU just ended their support of shared access to other credit unions. Aside from being local, that was their primary benefit. They have sketchy policies on check deposits, and will charge your checking account for "overdrafts" even if the online service says the money is in the account. Looks like time to switch.
Response from the ownerHi Arn, MECU members can continue to use CO-OP shared branches (and ATMs) nationwide. The change was related to non-members accessing MECU branches for transactions. We hope this helps clarify. Also, we would be happy to take a look at any fees you were assessed. Please give us a call so we can assist further. Thank you for being a member!

Johnny G4Generally, I have always had a wonderful experience at this branch. However, today the general manager was in a bad mood. The teller, Jasmine, provided superb customer service and smiled through an uncomfortable encounter. My sister now has the money she needs for school in AZ. Thanks Jasmine!!! Be patient with Mrs. Hardy, she still has a lot to learn obviously.

Eugene Mobile1This was months before COVID-19. I made two attempts here to open an account. The first time they just wouldn't open the door (looks like it was a team meeting inside but no one even looked my way) and the second time nobody was up front ... I guess they have way too much money on deposit...
Response from the ownerEugene, I'm very sorry for your experience. Because of COVID-19, MECU branches are working under reduced hours.
