Maine Family Federal Credit Union Reviews

Josh Ryan2ATM only works half the time. They do shared branching, but they do everything as a check, so then it creates unnecessary holds and headaches with your Credit Union. I became a member hoping it’d make it easier, but its still just as much of a headache. If they need to have a physical paper trail that bad, just keep the receipts and don’t make everything go by check. Also- if you don’t have enough in your checking, it’ll either reject it or charge you a fee. This is why I’ve stuck to my other credit Union that’s farther away instead of switching completely.

Jordan Fyfe1Was planning on opening an account here and depositing 100k to start off with, but as I walk in through the front door I am greeted by the front desk associate who seems to have a serious issue with me being there with the smart remarks and the poor attitude. Pretty sure my age was a factor.

Sam S5I have been a member since I was a kid, I have never had a bad experience. The app, kind of stinks and the automatic check deposit feature never works, but, I have never had issues with service, or any of the staff. Best in the area by far.

chris pelkey1Here is my issue. I've been looking to do a cash out refinance on a property I recently purchased. I've encountered issues with the length of time I've owned the property. The fact that I can't make it my primary residence (can't change residence if everything is closed for covid). As well as the property being a multi family. Each one of these has resulted in a credit check for no reason. Number of credit checks recently affects your credit score. My credit score is excellent and I'm sensitive about keeping it that way. Especially since I'm looking to take out a loan. With this in mind I called Maine Family before I applied to make sure none of these issues would cause them to decline a loan. The loan officer I spoke to assured me that none of those issues would be a problem. With that in mind I spent the better part of an hour filling out their online application and submitting a loan request. Sure enough a week or so later I got a denial letter. The reasons cited are temporary residence and length of residency. Two reasons I explicitly confirmed before applying would not be a problem. Yet another credit check. I reached out to the loan officer to find out what was going on and received no return call. I will attempt to contact a manager so I can file a complaint, but at this point the damage is already done. Completely disappointing experience.

Noah Withee1I have been a member for 6 years (since I turned 16) and never overdraft, I didnt even know I could and I asked to get it returned in which the response was simply no. Any other bank or credit union would refund a one time mistake. Guess I'm looking for a new bank that has some understanding.

Makayla Bailey1This is the worst customer service I have ever received and their ATM gave me 120 dollars less then I took out. Which the full amount still came out of my account mind you. Instead of counting their ATM they told me to file a complaint with my bank. This is sad and I would never recommend anyone to use this bank. This is not the first bad encounter with this company either. So now I am out 120 dollars and no one cares but me because the money was for a Mother's Day present. So a big thank you to Maine family for being trash

Benley !1Their app is horrible, their ATM eats cards(they literally have a box of the cards it stole), and their entrance to the parking lot/drive thru is a disaster.
