      M&T bank is probably one of the worst banks to go through. They don't tell their customers that the first 30 days, checks are held for up to a week until it is deposited into your account, which, if you have bills to pay, this sets you behind big time. They also don't tell the customers that if you want to close your account within the first 180 days of it being opened, you have to pay a $50 penalty fee. And if you don't use your account at all within 25 days (25 days of inactivity, they charge you a matinence fee.

      this atm ate my bank card after hours, customer service claims the bank would audit the atm in the morning and hold card for 24 hours. branch claimed they don't audit them and card was destroyed.
