  Scott and his team are the best in the business!!! Knowledgeable, great communication skills, and extremely efficient. Over the years I’ve worked with Scott and his team on several new purchases and refinances and he’s managed them all FLAWLESSLY. He is client oriented, very trustworthy and takes the time to walk you through the process and explain all pertinent details.   We worked with Scott Mertens to secure financing for our first home and couldn't have been happier with the service we received. Scott is super friendly and responsive, he'll get you any pre-app letter you need in a matter of minutes. He's a math-god and can explain figures in a way that's understandable for us mere mathematical mortals! He made sure my wife and I understood every line item and feature of our loan and was available whenever we needed him. Awesome to work with, highly recommended!

  After renting for years, I realized it was time to rethink where my money was going. I was only 24 so home ownership seemed very daunting! Scott walked me through the entire process, from what to look for in a realtor, interest rates, escrow accounts, and even as far as maintaining a home. I was going from renting (never worrying about repairs) to being liable for any maintenance. Scott explained the value in property and how is was an asset. At first I thought about a condo, but the condo fees were expensive. I didn't need all the space of a single family home. Scott gave me the idea of a multi-family home, with the bonus of having someone help pay your mortgage! I decided to move forward with a two-family home. I was able to use some of the rent from the other unit to qualify! Scott was very attentive and responsive during the process, no matter how small or trivial my questions were. They are local here in Dover, and being able to have face to face time during such a large purchase put my nerves at ease. Being able to go over the paperwork in person so I understood the details was very important. I have been in my home several months now (enjoying someone else pay my mortgage might I add) and couldn't be happier with the decision. Scott is still always available if I have a question come up. I called him to double check when my tax bill came in the mail to be sure my escrow account still paid that and he was happy to help, he assured me the town sends out paper copies for your records but escrow pays the taxes! I have referred several of my friends (even my parents!) and they all had similar experiences and were very happy they chose to work with Scott. There are several Loan Officers in his office and they were always willing to answer my questions if he was on another phone call. Through conversations with some acquaintances I found out a few other people I knew worked with John and Steve in Scott's office and they too had a great experience and referred them to friends. I highly recommend Scott's team with Primary Residential Mortgage. Making such big decisions, you need to be sure you're in good hands!
