Linn Area Credit Union Reviews

Steve Morris1I have an auto loan through Linn Area Credit Union. Almost a year ago, they slapped me with a "Forced Coverage Policy" when I had already provided them proof of insurance from the day my vehicle was purchased (over 2 years ago). For some reason, they lost my information and began charging me for this policy but didn't tell me. I found out because my credit score had been affected and I had to go through several steps between the credit union and my insurance company to again provide them the proof of insurance. This was in February and I was assured by two different people that all accrued charges would be removed from my account. I continue to receive Past Due Notices for the related charges. My car payments are on auto-pay and I have never missed a payment. They have received all money they are entitled to through my loan agreement but continue to harass me with these notices. I have reached out to their customer service, a Senior Credit Solutions Analyst, and the Loan Operations clerk on a number of occasions but they seem to have gone silent. I am certainly not an advocate of this credit union and if I am part of the "we are family" I am the forgotten child locked under the stairs.

Debbie Erenberger5The associates at Linn Area Credit Union are ALWAYS professional and helpful. They treat me like I am their only customer. I also appreciate the fact that they support The Teacher Store. The LACU gives resources to teachers to provide students with access to supplies that they may otherwise be missing. Nice work!

The Maintenance Spot1Worst...bank...ever. I had an account for less than a year. Due to some fraudulent charges from paypal, my account was overdrafted to 200+ dollars. (Mainly from their 30$ fee they tacked on to each one). When I asked what could be done, or if I could file for fraudulent charges, they told me there was nothing I or they, could do. I was later told that I would have needed to contact both paypal, and the backing company and provide proof of that so they could submit it to VISA, but by this time, it had been too long. They have given out my roommates account information to me, without asking for verification. They saved him from those 30 dollar fees, but not myself. They did not update the phone number on record for him, but used money from his account under "Right to offset", but neither of us knew til the 200 dollars suddenly went missing. We received no mail notification about it. Nor phonecalls. When I started digging for information, and climbing up the corporate ladder to get answers, I was treated very rudely and shut down at almost every turn, until I finally got ahold of the overseeing manager for all branches and told her what had gone on. She assured me that the behavior would be corrected, but this has destroyed my trust in this bank, and I will not be banking there in the future, I suggest others steer clear as well. Those involved: Jennifer Pierce - FInancial Officer Lora - Account Specialist This was at both the edgewood location, as well as the main branch.

Unknown1Jessie the manager is very rude. She failed to take any fault for what her employee messed up and just continued to blame the customer. They are unprofessional.
