  My husband and I were referred to AASB by our realtor. We were lucky enough to get Jason Robinson to become our mortgage broker. He was more than helpful throughout one of the most difficult transactions in home buying history (that's how it felt!). He thoughroly explained everything and was very quick to respond to every email we sent his way, even after business hours!   I recently purchased a home, a process that I had never been through before. A year ago I had begun a house search that I postponed for various reasons. I worked with Jason Robinson at Ann Arbor State Bank during that time. When I decided to resurrect my house search this season, I knew exactly who to go back to. Throughout the process, I encountered lots of information that was new to me as one does when buying their first home. Jason was happy to give very clear explanations about every facet of the process and promptly responded to any questions I had. Jason's continued work right up until the finalization of the mortgage also led to a lower interest rate being put into the loan, saving me money each month and a significant amount in the long term.   We had a great experience with AASB on our home refi. Our banker Jason Robinson provided very professional and friendly service, ensuring that everything was put in place in a timely way to secure the rate we were looking for -- even processing some important documents after hours to meet deadlines. I always felt like Jason was doing everything he could to secure the loan we wanted. We worked with him on the original sale/purchase, which was a bit complicated, and he made it all happen, carefully walking us through each step. Jason provides top notch banking service. My organization also banks with AASB and they advise on our financial health. We have been quite happy to have such a great business partner here in town.

  Ann Arbor State Bank - more specifically Sean Breeden, responded to my emails and phone calls in what was nothing short of amazing in terms of the amount of time it took to receive an answer or call-back. This level of expediency was critical when it came down to the wire to close quickly. We ran into a land boundary issue that took weeks to resolve, but because Sean was so good at what he does - clear, concise, and responsive - we still managed to close before we lost the lock on our interest rate. I've purchased several homes and refinanced on numerous occasions and never experienced anything like this service. Also, and most importantly, all the various fees to purchase our home were either the same as or less than the "major" bank I've been working with for 20 years. Finally, I never do reviews, but this level of service had to get one!

  Had to switch to a local bank bc my national bank wasn't located in the Ann Arbor area. Couldn't be happier with the service so far! The bankers are friendly and the online deposits limit is huge which has been really convenient with my job. Decided to stay with A2SB for my mortgage and the process with Jason Robinson was easy and informative for a first time home buyer.

He was able to immediately write me a pre-approval letter and agreed to meet the same loan terms advertised by the other lender.
