  I have been an LMCU member for over 25 yrs back when it was G.R. Teacher's CU; it is my opinion and experience that LMCU is a great place where my family has done business here for years with several accounts and services. It is more than frustrating to have this Branch be on my way to & from work knowing this Branch has it's customer service issues not only inside but with the drive thru as well. Yes, I have brought these concerns up and discussed with managers, directors & Hq as I have tried to overlook and give 2nd & 3rd chances yet this location has a lack of quality, customer care & service. So instead, I make plans to visit other locations to stay clear and find out that the others branches are in fact run with higher customer care & service.

  I have been a customer since 1988. I have had accounts during that time with other banks. I can honestly say that I have never had a problem in my 30 years at this credit union that wasn’t resolved quickly and efficiently. I cannot say that about other banks in our community. Off the top of my head I can think of three seriously large issues I have had to deal with at other banks that dealt with thousands of dollars and took weeks to resolve and required calling out of state to get answers. They are getting to be a very large organization but still seem to maintain the home town credit union feel with great benefits. People speak on here about overdraft charges and fees. My daughter who recently had a baby incurred a charge. She called and explained that the charge was incurred the week she delivered. They not only took care of the charge but sent a personal note to her in the mail congratulating her. While you do have to jump through a few hoops to get 3% interest on your checking account try finding a deal like that elsewhere.

  The staff here is always very friendly, and I've never had to wait in line very long. I always go to this branch when I'm having any account issues, and love that they have two drive in ATMs! I've been with LMCU for several years, and their customer service is above and beyond any other bank I have used. Highly recommend for loans and their credit card service as well!

  I have been a satisfied customer with LMCU for years. They have helped me build a strong credit score at an early age. They have all of the perks of a big bank while still being a credit union. The MAX checking program is a great way to have a high interest checking account. If you are staying around the West Michigan area LMCU is a great banking choice.

  Always love going here. Jeff helped me yesterday and was super nice and helpful. I've been with LMCU since I was a kid when it was teachers credit union. Never left them, and always refer friends to them

  So severely disappointed in this place. Switched to LMCU to refinance a pretty large loan and to get away from the big bank industry as we had been customers for forever. Amy the branch manager was nothing but rude and unprofessional during our conversation today even though LMCU was the one that processed the paperwork for my loan wrong costing me hundreds of dollars in fees that I was told I wouldn't have to pay. However, due to their unwillingness to stand behind their customer after an error that THEY made, I am now forced to pay the fee. This is something that I would expect from a big bank like Chase or Wells Fargo where you are just another account, but not from a credit union let alone Lake Michigan. If this is how they are going to treat their customers, then I will be cancelling my accounts and switching over my loan ASAP. I am absolutely appalled. To hear Amy say "Thank you and have a nice day," in the most sarcastic disrespectful tone after interrupting me and walking away speaks volumes about what they are all about.

  By far the worst credit union or bank around. Don't let the 3% interest rate on checking fool you into making a poor choice when it comes to checking, savings, or loans. The customer service is awful. Also, if you ever have an overdrawn accout they will charge you an overdraft fee for any attempt do anything, even if no funds are issued (exe attempted withdraws for an autopayment). Then, if you take a paper check to the bank to put money in the accout, they charge you another $30 dollars to fix the issue, as well as make you wait 5 business days (not includong Sat & Sun) before they put the funds in the account... in which time they'll charge as many overdraft fees as possible. I reccomend avoiding LMCU unless you don't care about honest business practices or customer sercive, and all you want to do is leave $15k in a checking account for a rainy day.

  When I mentioned to the clerk that we were adopting she was very sweet and excited for me and my family. She must have made note of that because then we received a deposit into our account that afternoon from LMCU! Thank you for your thoughtfulness and for being a family centered company! That brought tears of joy to my eyes!

  The customer service is poor, the overdraft fees are rediculious, the policies for cashing or even using a paper check to put money into an accout are unnecessarily complicated and lengthy. If you try to do anything with a paper check over $200 the funds won't be available for 5 days.

  We left the big banks over 2 years ago. Gave half of our business to Lake Michigan as they have multiple locations and great hours. Staff is very friendly and professional.
