KeyBank Reviews

Paul Frampton4I go to this Key Bank regularly to cash my check. The tellars are always friendly, always quick and have memorized what I bills I prefer my check in. I am always able to get a couple rolls of quarters and have never felt pressured to open an account. Gotta say great experience over all!. ..

KTN Nom3rcy3Some days is good some days it isn't- through the week (Monday-Friday)-there is always service from open to close time. Saturdays...they close 1 hour before they say they close. Don't follow what the web says about their close time. They closed at 12 (waited an hour and they really did till 1) the website said they were still open lmao
Response from the ownerHello, we'd be happy to forward over your concerns to the proper area. Please send us an email at [email protected] with any additional details. Reference case #66725 in the subject line and refrain from including any account numbers. Thank you. ^PR

K Durham1My husband went in to open a checking account. The man he spoke to at the front counter was incredibly rude and had a major attitude issue. He was very unwilling to help or even be cordial in the slightest. He must hate his job, it was pretty obvious. He even threw my husbands ID back at him telling him it's almost expired (the new one is in the mail). Hopefully management reads this and corrects the poor customer service this guy provides.
Response from the ownerKristen, I’m sorry to hear your husband had this experience, if he would like to share additional information. Please have him send his feedback to us at [email protected] including his full account name with a contact phone number and zip code. Thank you. ^JL

Veronica Hunter4My husband cashes his check here every week. He doesn't actually have an account with them but you wouldn't know it based off the service provided! Amazing...they even remember how he prefer his check to be cashed! Great job!
Response from the ownerGood Morning Veronica, thank you for letting us know about your husbands experience. We like to take care of people coming into our branches whenever possible. Thank you and have a great weekend!^CH

dat1Do not get a mortgage here unless you are willing to do ALL the work by yourself. They will not be there to help you along the way, you will be the one organizing everything and reminding them of deadlines. Mortgage broker was very hard to get a hold of and was very slow to return calls. They also pressure you into using one of “their” real estate agents which is not good practice.

Chris Young1I am not a member, but went in to cash a check from them. Not only were they going to charge me $5.00, but they wanted me to write down my complete SS number, my telephone number, address, and occupation. Occupation? Really? I will no longer accept checks from Key Bank. Update one day later : Key Bank responded to my review, but ignored the vast majority of my complaint. Key Bank will learn the hard way that everyone they come in contact with is a stakeholder and should be treated as if they are trying to earn their patronage. With. Every. Single. Contact. I am not sure what the reason is for their question about my occupation is, but it felt very intrusive and discriminatory.
Response from the ownerHello Chris - KeyBank charges non-customers a fee to cash a check at our KeyBank branches. While we believe the fee is reasonable, and is an industry standard, I understand your frustration. None of us likes to pay fees, even when we understand why they exist. I would like to offer you an explanation: KeyBank is glad to render services to our customers – services they pay for through regular checking account service charges. We are just as glad to render these same services to those who are not yet our customers – we simply ask that they “pay as they go” for them. Checks cashed by those who are not our customers still require the same level of service, hence the fee. We also feel strongly that consumers should have the choice to either cash a check at KeyBank and pay the fee, or choose not to, and go to their own financial institution. That is why the teller informed you of the fee before you completed the transaction. Please be aware that KeyBank policies comply with the Uniform Commercial Code. Please let me know if there is anything further you would like to discuss in regards to this. Thanks! ^ JJ

Alayxa Yeager1All keybanks open at 9... Except this one? That's annoyong... But not why I gave only 1 star. My husband went in to get his replacement card and they had lost their keys to the vault! He had to wait for 20 minites for them to find the keys and open the vault for his card which should have taken less than 5. The lady who was helping him talked to us in a very demeaning tone as well.
Response from the ownerHello Alayxa, on Saturdays the Lancaster Drive branch opens at 9:30 am. We apologize for any inconvenience you experienced the other day and will look into your concerns. If there is anything we can do to help please email us at [email protected]. ^PG

Dozana Gomez1I came in here last week with my parent and he was not only treated disrespectfully but he was told to roll his own change that she didn’t have time to count the change because they didn’t have a machine to count it. So he went and rolled the change for them and when we came back in today at 1/19/19 he was told that they would not be able to count it! He had to basically argue to be able to deposit his own money! That people can put spaces in between the rolls and they have to recount it completely contradicting what the other lady had told us. Marla was very rude and disrespectful towards my parent for asking about DEPOSITING $163 in change, helping this business by supporting it. Lack of customer service and very rude! Marla started raising her voice and having an attitude with my parent which I witnessed in front of other customers as well. She snapped at him and explained that she was in charge since her friend doesn’t work there but she was inside the bank with her helping her with access to private information but “she doesn’t work there”. Will definitely stay far away from this bank and I would like to speak to the manager of this establishment to file a formal complaint against Marla and her friend Jessica that apparently “doesn’t work for Key Bank”. Happened 1/19/19 around 12:45-1:00 so they should check with their security cameras why a girl who doesn’t work for Key Bank was behind their counters. On top of all of this, they only deposit $103 of his $163 worth of change and they told him they would credit him the remaining $60 later on so if they don’t credit him those $60 I will be calling and asking to speak to a manager.
Response from the ownerHi Dozana, thank you for your feedback regarding our father's experience yesterday. We will look into this for you. Should you need any assistance please email us at [email protected] ^PG

Gabrielle Maurer1Went there to get some papers notarized. Apparently they can only notarize papers with a specific LINE on the paper or they can't help you. Bummer considered I had called first to ask for a notary. Just a heads up for anyone going there. The guy at the least gave me the address to a different place. Still extremely inconvenient.
Response from the ownerGabrielle, thank you for your branch feedback. If you have additional comments, please send them to us at [email protected] including your original post with your full account name, a contact phone number and zip code, we will pass your response along. Thank you. ^JL
