Closed my account after receiving terrible customer service multiple times. Too many banks offering better incentives to not be treated like just a number. I’ll take my money elsewhere!

      Response from the owner

I have been banking with this branch for 30 years (since 1990). I received a check for a sale of my boat. The check was then cancelled by the person who issued it. Key Bank put a restriction on my account. I was unable to access my existing funds. When I closed the account and received a cashier's check from them for my balance, they put a restriction on this. I have been unable to access my own money for 7bdays. They are horrible.

      Response from the owner

I would rate them below zero if that was an option. After 2 days of trying to resolve a Keybank mistake, I am now waiting for up to two more days to speak to a manager. We contributed to our 4 grandchildren's 529 account electronically. Keybank debited our account 5 times. They have verified with the 529 organization that they received only 4 deposits (as did I before even calling them), but they are asking for up to 45 days to "maybe" correct their mistake. What is equally disturbing is that they have no way to track which transaction was the mistake, or....wait for it....who made the mistake on the Keybank side. What kind of accountability is that? I have been a customer for 15 years and we have weathered other challenges, but this one will cause me to go through the pain of moving all our ACH accounts over to a new bank. I'm done.

I was kind of surprised to see the bad reviews here, so I thought I would chime in. We have done our business banking at Key Bank for nearly two years and have had excellent service. I think what is most important to us is that the staff has been very competent and consistent. It feels more like a small town bank because we know the people who work there, they know us and our needs and if we need something, we get fast and efficient attention.

      Response from the owner

Hi Karen, we appreciate the time you took to review our East 1st Ave branch. We'll be sure to pass it on. Thank you for banking with Key! ^PG

A teller completely got a transfer wrong to another person's account I was sending to. Called and was unapologetic and insensitive to the matter

      Response from the owner

Hi There - We have forwarded this to our Branch Management Team. If you need any additional assistance, feel free to email us at [email protected] and reference Case #70477 in the subject line. Thank You. ^DD

They treated me like garbage here, I have never been treated so bad. I left the branch so upset because they were unable to help me deposit my cashiers check into my account that I needed for medicine because I was super sick. They said they were going to put a 5 business day hold at their discretion on my funds. They could clearly see and hear that I was under the weather, yet they showed no empathy for me. How repulsive, this definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. I filed a complaint with Corporate.

      Response from the owner

We're sorry to hear about your experience, Desirae. I understand you've placed a formal complaint with our corporate offices. I'll also pass along this review to them for you. If you'd like to provide your contact info along with any additional details about your experience, please share with us by email at [email protected]. ^CS

Elliot Long has been our banker at Key Bank Cherry Creek Branch for a number of years. He is absolutely wonderful. Professional, patient, always available to help us with banking issues. I highly recommend Key Bank and this branch in particular under his management.

To whom this may concern: I believe customer service is important, because it represents the integrity; and the will to help others, no matter the situation. The option is always in the hands of the professional; to help you, even if your staff is not on board w/ you... in my experience. It has been nearly a month, and not one phone call or follow up, about an application I filled out for a refinance on a mortgage. I believe there are policy's, however, take the time to communicate w/ your customer. Help them feel that your doing everything you can, and if there is an issue; then lets address it and move on; stop wasting people's time. I will be closing my account w/ Key Bank. The experience and communication has been terrible. Thank you,

      Response from the owner

Hi Robert: This is not the type of service we strive to provide our clients and I would like to obtain some additional information. If you would send an email to [email protected] including your contact info, I will be in touch. ^LH

This is the worst financial institution I have ever experienced! 7 day holds on payroll checks and shady fees that will show up over night no matter how many times you call/ go in to clear up the issue. Unless you’re a masochist I would avoid key bank, and this branch in particular at all costs!!!

      Response from the owner

Hi Nathan - that certainly is not the opinion we want you to have of us. Could you provide us more information about what happened, we'd be happy to discuss the issues with you. Send us an email to [email protected] if you need to. ^ JK

Key bank will work you so hard on fees. One overdraft can turn into literally ten with their system for receiving and clearing funds. Then when you try to close the account they make it as difficult as possible. I highly recommend not going with key bank. Chase has been great to me so far.
