Honest Harry's Pawn & Shop Reviews

Kay Gross1I was going to give three stars but the young man wanted to argue, Since I sold him knives I did not deserve a Bill of sale. I said I did because I had to prove that I sold them and that is why I no longer had them. In the end of arguing with him he cut or tore the middle of one of his papers and sure enough on the top of said paper it says Seller's Bill of Sale. and this came from the paper he had my husband sign. I looked around the shop to see just how honest this shop was. The rings were priced anywhere from $700 on up to $3,000 or close, When I mentioned the price to the same guy that is above he asked me if I had priced rings in Jewelry stores. I said yes but those were never worn in a Jewelry store, and these are second handed. plus I see you work on jewelry, what would make one think that those were real diamonds or replaced by fake? He even said he would bargain on price if I found one I liked...how nice of him. I will find another pawn that I can trust a little better. I won't be going back there.

My name is Jorge1Don't pawn anything here, especially if you're a woman. They won't treat you fairly and laugh at you like you don't know what you're doing, so they'll try to rip you off. My pawn items were brand new and never used, yet apparently barely worth anything yet their coworker was eyeing/hovering over my items like he can buy them for dirt cheap after the sell like the gold rings on his fingers. Decided to sell it online myself to make more profit and I did. I understand the concept of pawning, but you can't hustle a hustler. There are better shops elsewhere, don't be desperate and let them rip you off. Even the crackheads wouldn't fall for that ruse, smh
Response from the ownerI’m sorry you feel this way ma’am but let’s tell the whole story. You told us that you paid $200 for two fishing poles that only cost $34 and $44 at Walmart. When I pointed that out you said “well it was $200 after the groceries”. So who was trying to hustle whom? The price I offered was based off of the Walmart price of THOSE items not the price of your groceries. Also, you did still sell us one other item so we must not have been that much of a rip off. Thank you, have a nice day.

Johnny Blanco5I came to Lawton for a deposition at the Zelbst Lawfirm (best firm around by the way) Anytime I work in a new town I try to visit the local pawnshops in search of random treasure. My first and only stop was Honest Harry’s pawn. I walked in and was immediately greeted by a fella by the name of Bill. Typically I write reviews in light of great service which this was, everyone was. Bill even gave me a great deal on a couple bass pedal, but what I really want to do is thank Bill for the great conversation and brief storytelling of a different time. He’s the real deal and if there’s one thing I know about my new found friend Bill…he won’t lie to you. Stop in and say hello. Tell em’ Johnny sent ya.

Elizabeth Elm1In the past this place was so great, very helpful and respectful in all ways. However, there is now a young man working here who is incredibly rude and unhelpful. When my husband lost his ticket and I came with his ID to try to buy back his item this person refused to do anything to help and was totally condescending. Attitude is everything. The worst. And regarding the owner’s response, “I’m sorry YOU felt it was rude” is not any kind of real apology.
Response from the ownerWe simply tried to explain to you that the only way we could give you the item is if you have the ticket signed over to you by him. Since your husband lost the ticket, the only person we can give his item to is him. I’m sorry you felt like that was rude.

Brandon Holmes5This place has often helped me out with cash on loan. They have always kept good care of any equipment as collateral, never been pushy in a forced sale, and they don't loan so much that's it becomes impossible to retrieve one's items. They sell a variety of useful products. Tools, music equipment, household & lawn care items, jewelry, etc. They offer decent prices for what they sell. Some merchandise is more used; some of it is almost pristine as new.

Tom Belase1We called this place before we ever left the house. I asked the man three times how much I could get on my laptop. He stated I can at least give you $50. He said come on in. I asked him one more time are you sure because we have to drive from Meers. He said yes. I got to the shop about 10 minutes till closing. He looked over my computer and asked me what are you trying to do. I told him I would like to at least get $100. He says I can't do it. I told him it was a $700 laptop. He said I can give you $30. I said that's not what you told me on the phone when I called. he then went on to lie and said I didn't talk to anyone on the phone about a laptop. I then went to tell him this is why I called before I came and showed him on my caller ID where I had a conversation with their business for 5 minutes. He said well you didn't talk to me and I know I did because it was the same voice. The old man owner just sat in his chair with his eyes closed. What kind of business lies to people. There's nothing I can do but this review to let other people know that honest Harry's business lies. We had to have a friend send us $20 just to get back home. I do not recommend this business because of their dishonesty.

Jeannie Smith5Great experience with Peggy and bc of her, I will be back here to shop. I don't usually look to pawn shops for items, however I've enjoyed shopping here, and have found many products that are in good condition and quality. I strongly believe in recycling and repurposing so, pawn shops just make sense!

Benjamin Nepveux1A lot of crooks preying on good people's desperation. Went into the shop looking to make an honest deal, but was met with rude and unfair offers. I was lucky to be in a situation where I wasn't in desperate need of the money; just looking for some extra cash. I feel bad for those in less fortunate situations at their hands.

J5 Performing Arts5Undoubtedly the best people to deal with in Lawton. I have both bought and sold numerous times with them and they are always more fair that anyone else in town. I don't even bother checking around anymore. I just go straight to them.
