  We worked with Ben Montoya at Guardians to refinance our home. He was very patient with us, provided great instructions in what he needed from us. He was very open, very communicative, very professional and extremely helpful with the whole process. If he didn’t have the answer, he knew immediately where to find it! I HIGHLY recommend Guardians and especially working with Ben!

  Very disappointing. Guardian came highly recommended to me and I hate to say that I do not see why. It was like pulling teeth getting anyone to communicate with me. When I called to ask about connecting with a mortgage expert, the woman on the phone was rude and acted like she had no idea who to route my call to. The first person I talked to, Mark, would find any excuse to hang up the phone and would not call me back. The second person I tried working with, Ben Montoya, also did not communicate well. After I submitted all the necessary documents, he told me I needed to submit my bank statements, which I had already done and had been notified by email that he had received and downloaded. Whenever I would send him documents, I would have to follow up with him just to confirm that he received them. Guardian also ran my credit twice, and when I brought this up to Ben he told me my score did not go down even though it had. I never received loan documents from them to review after being told multiple times I would receive them, so I ended up having to go with a different lender to not delay closing. Working with Guardian on a mortgage loan has been an absolute hassle and I would not recommend them to anybody. I would give them 0 stars if I could.

  We have worked with Wally Bates from Guardian Savings Bank for over 15 years he has been a blessing to my family and all those who have worked with him. I would highly recommend using them for your refinancing or new mortgage.

  I've used Guardian for both a refinance and a new mortgage. The loan agent I worked with, Mike Peters, did fantastic work. He patiently and thoroughly explained the details of what is always a complicated and challenging process. Communication wasn't always perfect, and there were many times when I did not receive information in a timely manner, but overall I was happy working with him. However, the rest of the organization was disappointing. Due to their "conditions" and underwriting team's disorganization and poor practices, our closing got delayed and it seriously affected our family's ability to move. There was little regard shown for this major inconvenience - they offered to slightly reduce our closing costs in compensation, but it was a weak effort, and this came directly from the president of the bank. I would not use Guardian again for a new mortgage, but would probably give them a shot for a refinance if I worked with Mr. Peters.

  After dealing with Guardian about a home mortgage, I decided to go with a different lender. Their loan officer called me afterward to argue with me about my decision. This reflects poorly on the company and makes me glad I decided the way I did.

  Very good experience with this bank. People are very friendly and fast with responses. Was able to close mortgage on time with lowest closing cost compare to other banks. Would recommend to my friend for sure

  Everything has been good with this bank. Refinancing was simple and easily accomplished.
