Don Alexander5I have been a member of the Greater Iowa Credit Union for more than 30 years. I have had share accounts, share draft accounts, car and truck loans, and a mortgage loan. I have never had any issues with any financial transactions. All the staff I have dealt with over the years have been extremely helpful, friendly and courteous. I don't know why anyone would go anywhere else.

Melanie Holtan5I've banked at Greater Iowa Credit Union's Lincoln Way Ames branch for years, and appreciate the friendly staff and great customer service. GICU offers great interest rates on the Greater checking, as well as for consumer loans. I highly commend and appreciate Branch Manager, Miranda's, assistance in quickly resolving a recent issue that came about; issues are rare at GICU, but the care and her quick response to resolve was much appreciated.

Jamie Rehlander Barker5We've banked at Greater Iowa Credit Union for several years and include savings, checking, mortgage, HELOC, credit card, etc. Yesterday, I was in the bank opening a new account for a cause of mine and Brenna, the teller working at the time, showed remarkable interest and compassion. I can't tell you how much it means to me to live in a city this size and still get that "home town" friendly service, where you are more than a number. Thank you for always making us feel like this! Kudos to Brenna!

She answered all my questions and took extra time with me to make sure I understood every detail. I am so glad she was available to assist me. I would highly recommend her services. Mara MacKay5Always a positive experience when asking for assistance or research. A very positive banking experience. I only wish you offered these services more places and that for those who have under a certain level of income (suggest $50k) that banking fees could be reduced for anyone under that income. FAR Better than a traditional bank!!! Great employees!

Brooke Hartmann5Wanted to leave a compliment about Rachel Brazelton at the Lincoln way branch because too many people focus on the negative when it comes to businesses and good customer service deserves recognition too. :) Rachel has been extremely helpful and so friendly! My husband and I walked in on a Saturday close to closing and she sat with us, answered all our questions and even gave us helpful information we didn’t even think to ask about. She was enjoyable to talk with and gave us her full attention. Even after leaving and contacting her through email she was quick to respond and beyond helpful. THIS is what great customer service looks like! Thank you!

Ashley5GICU has been my husband's bank for nearly ten years and mine for five. I couldn't be happier with the personal service we get and all the awesome benefits like the accidental death insurance plans. They're pleasant to work with and they treat us like family whenever we do business in person. Good job, guys!

Jeff Hauser4Joined Greater Iowa when we were looking to purchase a truck. We were at the dealership and the best percentages came from GICU. These guys didn't know us from Adam and Eve, but approved us immediately and trust me our credit wasn't that great. We felt so good about working with them we bought a second car through them. We travel extensively and were late on a payment or two over the years and they were very helpful and people friendly. I can understand people have bad experiences with institutions, especially ones that deal with dollars, but the next time you are about to crap on any credit union stop and think. In 2007 big banks choked Americans for BILLIONS in bailouts. Also remember none of them were credit unions.

Jami Tharp1SO glad I dont bank here anymore. Haven't for years. I came here today to cash a check that was written by someone who is a member of this credit union to avoid trouble since it's a 2 party check. I had to pay $5 for nothing more than cashing a check from one of their members. Stupid and unnecessary. If you're looking for a great credit union go to Members 1st. They don't charge all these crazy fees and treat you like royalty.
