      Horrible communication. The length to complete a refinance process was absurd. Documents had to be provided multiple times. If only Freedom had a system which linked consumers application to their loan number so that all the agents would be on the same page.

      I hate leaving negative reviews, but I really feel like this one is needed. Although your staff was super friendly and helpful, I felt like they ALL failed in communicating with one another. I am not sure if this is an issue with your systems more than anything. My biggest issue was I've spoken with multiple staff member from different departments and every time I spoke with them I let them know that I was going to bring the refinancing costs to the table. After a month of starting the process, the notary showed up to close at my house. She was very friendly and informative. However, she showed up with the documents rolling the refi costs to the loan and not me paying them at the table. I know this wasn't her fault and was more of the underwriter. So she left and we didn't close. After multiple calls explaining once again I didn't want the closing costs rolled in the loan, it happened again. Every single time, I spoke to someone about it, they said "they were going to put it down on the notes" as it seemed like it was something new and no one before has put it down the notes cause every time I spoke to someone new, it seemed like they had no idea I had requested that. I was furious and they finally decided to make it right by reducing my origination fee from 1% to 0.5%, which I really appreciate, but felt that it was the least they could do. The process took around 4 months!!! Since December to March! Finally, the documents were written to my liking with the closing costs being paid by me at the closing table. Last thing that proved to me your systems dont communicate with one another is when another representative called me mid March to let me know I was late on my March mortgage payment. I explained to him I was in the process of refinancing and was told I wasn't going to pay for the month of March. He had NO idea my account was on the refinancing process. Not his fault, but the system. Let me reiterate that your staff, especially Ms. Zech was very helpful in the process.

      I would not recommend working with Freedom. I refinanced with them and it took 4 months longer than expected. I sent over the same documents to them multiple times and the agents I worked with stopped responding to my emails and phone calls. It was one of the most frustrating experiences of working with a company I've ever endured.

      We did a VA refinance. It took about three weeks. Freedom Mortgage offered the best rate without the fine print of so many other offers that require purchasing points to get the “low rate”. We were impressed with Russell Turner and everyone else we worked with along the way.

      Terrible communications. Disorganized. 1st closing the docs were wrong even tho I informed and provided the POA up front. Took 3 weeks to get a second closing date and then no one showed up. Docs weren’t ready and Freedom did not bother to let me know. I took time off work for the closing and then had to spend my time calling THEM to figure out the status. Never again. The only reason they get 2 stars is because the upfront part was relatively easy.

      Our refi process with Freedom Mortgage was terrible. We were lied to about closing costs, asked for the same documents multiple times, employees would not call us back to answer questions, and closing numbers were based off of expired payoff quotes, costing us thousands. And once complete, they continued to draft payments on the OLD mortgage. NEVER use them. Customer service is horrible.
