Erika Baker5What a great place to bank! Josie is the nicest teller on the earth! Every time she waits on my she makes my day! The branch manger Phyllis is very nice and helpful too. When ever I have a question or issue the staff takes time with me and helps make sure all my needs are met. I live closer to another branch but I always go out of my way just to go to this branch.

Jane dalton5I love this bank and all of it"s employees. I myself had several situations in which I needed guidance. No matter who the employee is, they are more than happy to assist you. Wait time ??? I have never waited more than five minutes. These people are extremely educated in all areas of banking!!!

Mel1Bad information security, poor/inconsistent customer service, slow service. Brick and mortar banks are a dying breed, but this institution makes me understand why. It took 2 hours to open 3 basic checking accounts - 2 individual accounts and a joint account. For reference, it took me less than 10 minutes to set up two Ally accounts online. The banking products do not offer worth while interest rates and promotional offers are selectively offered. What I mean by that is if a promotion comes in the mail from Flagstar it is ONLY offered to the person listed on the mailer. Maybe this isn't uncommon, but usually there is some flexibility at the branch if you ask to also receive the promotion. In this case it was $250 cash back on a checking account if you met certain terms. They absolutely would not give me the promotion even though my significant other who was sitting right next to me was getting the promotion. This just sets a bad tone. You need to have the banker at the branch set up your online banking access. Two main issues with this - (1) Flagstar has two mobile banking apps. Which is already confusing, but made worse when the banker sets you up on the wrong one and you cannot get access until you call customer support. (2) Instead of letting you choose your own username and password during set-up they give you generic credentials to change later. The generic credentials are EXTREMELY insecure. The password I was given was Bank1234. This was the same password my significant other was given. In this age of information security that is simply unacceptable. If you call the branch - your information may not be secure. There was a loan officer nearby while we were setting up accounts who was taking business calls with the door open on speaker phone. Those customers had no idea we could hear their phone calls. Get used to calling customer support. I have lost track of the number of times I have had to call customer support to fix issues that came out of the horrible service I received at the branch setting up accounts. Including the fact that the branch neglected to print checks for us after they said they would. Additionally it was not made clear that you personally have to go online to enroll in electronic statements to avoid the paper statement fee. One final point about Flagstar in general (i.e. not this branch specifically). I am assuming there is a very high turnover rate for employees at Flagstar and inadequate training programs. Two people we dealt with disclosed they had been with the company for only 2-3 months and each time you call customer support it is almost like calling a new bank each time. The tone, protocol, service, and level of access to fix issues seems to be different from every customer service representative. Lastly, the information given is inconsistent (i.e. "your mortgage can be merged into your online banking page", "no, myloans is completely seperate from online banking" "yes, you can link your mortgage to online banking, but it is for reference only you cannot process payments".) Overall very frustrating. I am closing my accounts.

O1Don’t open accounts here if you value your personal information and time. Speakerphone is not acceptable method when discussing banking details, I should not be able to hear your customer across the bank. 2 hours is too long to open an account. You can open one on Ally in less than 15mins.... and I thought Chase was bad.
