First U.S. Grass Valley Branch Reviews

Brian Smith1I had a business account with this place but ended up moving my money out. unpleasant to work with and not helpful. Last straw was getting a call to sign to finalize a loan that they said they approved and then getting there and finding out they didn't approve. Not mad so much I didn't get the loan at the time but that they told me that everything was good and come to sign when that was not true. A simple sorry would of gone a long way but instead they were annoyed with me. lots of other banks out there would not recommend this one.

Liz King4I've had an account with First US for many years and have found them to be helpful, respectful, and honest. I feel good knowing that I'm not supporting the evil big banks and that, when I have to go into the branch, I'm likely to see Telly who's worked there since I joined. A few years back, someone hacked my bank account and they were very helpful, accepting my claim and reimbursing me. I was able to rebuild my credit using a First US secure credit card. I also opened my first business bank account here. Oh, yeah. We go way back (*smile*). I feel sorry - and surprised - for anyone who has ever gotten poor service there. I can't imagine what happened. Maybe I'm just one of the lucky ones. My only critique is that the Grass Valley branch is too small. It's not set up very well, considering how long the line can get, especially now, with Covid and social distancing. But I appreciate them taking it seriously and putting safety first. Hopefully, once the pandemic is over, they'll get a bigger space.
Response from the ownerThank you so much for your kind words. We appreciate you taking the time to let others know about your positive experience at First US. We also appreciate the constructive feedback regarding our branch layout.

Chase Krog5I chose to bank here after Bank of the West shut down my account for no reason. First US people were super patient while I got my paperwork together and kept correspondence while I was working on it. The teller that set up my account was very friendly.

Kayla Price1I have tried to work with First US 3 times now since the new year. Twice for business checking and once for auto loan. All three times I have received terrible customer service in the branch. They need to work on greeting customers better along with scanning the line to make sure that knowone is getting skipped like i did this last visit. When I went into the Auburn branch to open a business checking the teller acted completely overwhelmed and told us that this was the absolute worst day to do this for her. Still we stayed to see if she could help us and she made sure to tell us we were missing information needed to open up a checking account which I felt since it was such a horrible day for her to be doing this it was easier for her to send us away to "get more documents" than to just help us. The customer service has tanked in the Auburn and grass valley branch. They lost our business for good. We were able to go into another bank and take care of both business checking and auto loan with out any hassle or needing extra documentation.

Keara Kistle1My dad went to this bank a few days ago and they very rude to him for not having a mask on. We let them know he has a medical issue that prevents him from wearing one. Mind you, he only went in because their ATM was broken. Well, they were very rude to him and while he was in the bank, another person came in without a mask and they never told her she had to put one on and he asked them why didn't they tell the lady to put one on and all the bank ladies could do were shrug. The bank also asked him for his medical papers when that goes against the ADA law. Now, they call him and tell him he needs to wear a mask and have his medical records and are super rude over the phone to him. We will be changing banks..and oh, maybe get your ATM fixed so this doesn't happen again 🙃

Julia Hill3I was able to apply online and the person out of the Sactamento office was great to talk with. Both of these reasons is why this gets 3 stars. The branch in Grass Valley itself, the people were very unhelpful and there are no signs to let you know that even to open an account you have to stand in the regular line to talk with a teller. I sat for a very long time waiting before i was told that i had to go wait in line. When i explained to the teller that a sign would be really helpful she argued with me. Big banks are evil but at least they know how to do customer service.

Steve Koenig5I have been coming here for fifteen years, the personal attention, professional presence and a kind light demeanor. Is warmly appreciated by myself, I've never had any kind of negative experience in any way ever. The whole team is doing a fabulous job, with a bit of humor ta boot. From Tully to the newest member of the team. Thank you

Deby Ferguson5I was with 'B of A' approximately 20 + years an left due to becoming tired of being taken advantage of constantly. Switched to a somewhat smaller bank and received better service but it was still a 'ban.' The last few months I have been with the CU has proven to be a great improvement. I don't expect to EVER return to a 'BANK.'

Consuela Meono1I have an account here, but I do not use it. I like to check my account daily, (more than once). They require you change your online password frequently, so you can't use the account app, without having to go into the office to change your online password. Such an inconvenience! Therefore, they do not get my business and Wells Fargo does!!
Response from the ownerWe have lifted the restriction on password changes. Although it is recommended as a best practice for security, we do not require you to change your password. I hope this encourages you to try us again. We would love the opportunity to be your primary financial institution.

mary jo nightingale5Very friendly! Helpful and they have the "better then free" checking that is free of monthly fees!~Closed my other accounts at another huge bank after 9 years, because they are charging monthly fees now. I refuse to make other banks share-holders richer. Yea for First US!
