  Talking to bankers is scary and sometimes embarrassing because it feels like my financial screw ups, dumb or not so smart financial decisions are in their faces to be judged. The guys at First Southwest Bank are awesome! They treated me with dignity and like a human being. If you are a small business owner or a minority looking to talk to bankers about your business growth/goals and don't want to be treated like a number like big banks do? Contact the guys at First Southwest Bank, they would at least make time to talk to you, listen to your concerns and even give you recommendations that will help your financial situation. The guys at First Southwest Bank also made me feel comfortable and treated me as though they knew me before our first meeting. I am grateful and strongly recommend First Southwest Bank to women or and minority business owners as it is usually very difficult for us to find banks or bankers who are willing to talk to us or listen to our concerns. Thank you First Southwest Bank for answering all my questions and making me feel comfortable in our meeting.

  I've been a customer with First Southwest Bank for a few months now. Their customer service is excellent! They are quick to answer questions and resolve any concerns I have. In the branch, I'm greeted with some of the most sophisticated representatives who listen with interest, speak with candor, and act with integrity. A huge thank you to Mariana and Swarvosk. I highly recommend the two; very knowledgeable and friendly.

  We are SO grateful that First Southwest worked so diligently to provide PPP loans to the community, including our small business. These people are our HEROES and we will be transferring all our banking from the national bank we've had a relationship with for 3 years (and who was no help to us in this very challenging time of COVID-19). Not only did they secure a PPP loan for us, but there was constant communication all the way through regarding its progress, and everyone we worked with was so helpful. Local banking really does make a difference. <3

  First Southwest Bank is awesome! They are one of the few community banks left and they give generously in corporate sponsorship funds in support of the DOERS. I have always been impressed by their president and CEO, Kent Curtis. He is a creative/strategic thinker and can get loan deals done using his CDFI Bank connections and funding when others can't. I have always been treated with respect when in their lobby and I have recommended them to many friends. If you are looking for a great bank - don't pass this one up. - Angie Beach

  First Southwest Bank is our hero! We finalized our PPP loan this morning. From the second we reached out to let them know we were interested in applying, they were in constant contact with updates and information as it became available. We worked with several different people during the process and they all went above and beyond!   Service is slow and unreliable . They have made mistakes with depositing onto the wrong account or not the rite amount into the account. The guy i believe named Swavorski who works the front is extremely rude and comes off as high half the time. Im honestly shocked that they would let him deal with customers in any capacity. Do not use this bank. It is not worth the headaches of constantly calling in to have them fix their own mistakes, or be talked down to and treated like a nuisance by the guy working the front.

  We have banked here for many years with mostly good experiences until the last couple years or so. It's when they made their big bank changes that things started going down hill. I need people of integrity who are willing to back their words and actions to take care of my money. Swarvowski, the seemingly only teller here is NOT that. I can only hear so many times "no" or "sorry" and "its out of my hands" before I realize this bank is not here to help. While I was closing my account, nobody even asked why or if they could help fix a problem (and Mariana the branch manager was right there watching it go down). It seemed like the only time I heard "ok" and "yes" is when I asked to close the account. Amazing. I am a new business owner who is now shopping for a bank who has integrity, does what they say and stands behind me.

  I’ve been looking in to getting a second bank account since moving to Durango. Usaa doesn’t have some conveniences that I need. Had a pleasant experience with Swarvoski at the front. Not only did he answer all my questions but spent the time with me that most tellers have not. I’m confident in using this bank to jumpstart my business.
