  My overall service from First Portland was excellent. I worked with Kristeen Smith who was incredibly knowledgeable and professional. She made the process pleasant and easy. She was clear on all her documentation requests and the time frames we were working with. When ever I contacted her with questions she was available and always gave me excellent direction regarding my options. The closing was smooth. I would highly recommend First Portland and definitely Kristeen Smith.

  My experience with Kristeen Smith at First Portland Mortgage was one of the few positives in a highly stressful transaction. My home was on the market and not moving. I found the house I had to have in the meantime and needed to move quickly. Several banks and mortgage companies had been recommended but the day I needed answers was Veterans day. I called 1st Portland thinking 'no way' will anyone answer. Kristeen did, and from that point on the stars started aligning. She answered all of my questions clearly, concisely and patiently! She was always a phone call or an email away and was extremely organized and calm(as I am not!). Everything went off without a hitch or any drama. I had heard the banks were very icky about people juggling 2 homes etc. Yes, we were qualified, but Kristeen chose the best plan of action for us. If all of the employees are are as good as Kristeen, I recommend 1st Portland Mortgage.

  I contacted Kristeen at First Portland Mortgage after two unsatisfactory mortgage experiences. The first mortgage attempt was with a bank who after three months of frequent (and sometimes redundant) information requests and missed deadlines informed me that investments, my primary income source, was not acceptable even though this fact was clear from the beginning. The second attempt with local mortgage company was lengthy, had many data requests sometimes repeated due to delays, and a loan offer whose terms were not market competitive. The experience with Kristeen was just the opposite. She assessed my situation quickly and accurately laid out the tasks and timetable needed. She effectively managed the resources necessary to qualify, approve, and close my loan on a timely basis (45 days). The terms were quite competitive. Communication was very responsive, she made me feel like I was her only customer. I highly recommend Kristeen as your mortgage advocate.

  We have used Kristeen and her team at First Portland for a number of refinancings and new home purchases over the past decade or so. First Portland provides great service, good communication, competitive rates and timely processing. We just used them again in 2015. Same great service.

  We were referred to Jeff at First Portland by our real estate agent who had worked with him for many years and highly recommended him. We were initially planning to purchase a multi unit and she said that Jeff was undoubtedly the most knowledgeable local resource for multi unit financing. When we found the perfect single family home, Jeff and his team jumped through countless hoops to get all the details sorted out for our complicated situation.
