First Community Credit Union Reviews

Shaylyn Scheer1This place sucks to say the very least. I have closed my account here, and today my mother (a customer of 10 years) is closing hers. Debit cards are always placed on hold here with no explanation or warning. But today was the last straw. After the card was shut off, we called the union to get clarity. This is where the situation turned heinous. Specifically Mario and Josh from collections were extremely horrendous. Firstly, Mario would not give us his name after asking several times, then he proceeded to hang up on us and said it’s “our problem”. Upon calling again, Josh repeatedly raised his voice and ended up hanging up as well. We don’t want any more affiliation or aggravation from this union and will *gladly* bank elsewhere.

Nancy McClain1I am very disappointed with First Community Credit Union's customer service. My parents have been customers for over 15 years. Today, they had a teller and bank manager tell them that they place a 5 day hold on deposited checks for "certain people". This was a check from State Farm being used to pay workers. When asked when did this policy take place, the teller responded that she did not want to discuss it any further and the manager stated (again) that he makes the decision to do this for certain people. I would like to know what constitutes this category of "certain people" and why are they in this category? Secondly, is this now the way that representatives from your credit union speak to people or do they only speak to "certain people" in this manner?

Non Bougie Christian Network1DO NOT TRUST THIS BANK. I have two current disputes against them regarding fraud on my account that they willfully and happily allowed. I literally have to protect my own money at this bank. They do not monitor when other companies double or triple swipe/run your card in the same day for the same amount and then they give you the run around in the dispute process and won't return your money that they lost. Also when you transfer from another bank to their bank account it takes forever to receive your money- like they are recycling and investing it 10 times over before they release your money to you. Also, Small amounts of your money will just vanish $20 here $5 here and when you bring in your financial records to prove it they disregard and just give you the same faulty print out that shows the money is indeed missing and they refuse to do the math on a calculator-all they will say is "I'm just looking at the final number" or "I'm just going by what the computer is saying". I only use them for the free and quick debit card they get out to you the same day and I never leave money in that account for longer than 24 hours or it will come up missing. Do not trust this bank.

Martin Epstein2The wait time with the back office is unacceptable. The staff need training on how to efficiently use their time and that of their customers. Too much time is lost on idle discussion of matters not pertaining to the service requested. Your staff desperately some customer service training, almost a "MUST." Also wait time to use your safe deposit boxes is unreasonable.

Autumn Johnson1I have been a banking customer since 1999. This past year i have been charged overdraft fees continually while my direct deposit for my job is there at the same time or sometimes even before the check, i call and they tell me that theres nothing they can do. I have purchased and paid off 2 vehicles with them and I cannot believe that a financial institution which once was superb is now becoming substandard I may be transferring to another credit union soon.

Brian Seago1Calling ahead is not advised. I did so, to find out what forms of ID i needed to open an account. I was told just a driver's license. Nope. You also need a Social Security card in some cases. After the fact I was told that in most cases just a driver's license is all you need, however in about 5% of cases you will need your social. I guess adding on that last part to an answer is too much to ask. So as my service to their potential customers, here is what they should say when asked this simple question. "Just your driver's license, and in some cases your social security card". Simple effective and to the point. Your welcome. 😐

David Copeland5I've had an account with FCCU for years, and when I needed to get my first credit card, they wanted to see a pay stub. I told them I had direct deposit into my account, and they approved me immediately.
