raymond truex1Applied for a used car loan of $10,000 for a 30 year old truck. I have excellent credit so I was surprised when I was told a representative would contact me in one business day and I wasn’t immediately approved, so I decided to follow up with a phone call. After 30 minutes on hold I got through to representative, who informed me I was denied because the vehicle was ‘over 7 years old’. Nowhere in the application was that outlined, seemed unfair as I had 0% chance of being approved from the start, yet they let my credit hit with a hard inquiry. I decided to see if the representative could try with a personal loan since I was still sure I was qualified. Then my personal loan application was denied because they needed to know how I was paying my mortgage on my salary? I listed my part of the mortgage and showed the joint owners of my property, which they then informed me those family members would need to apply with me on this loan as well. Insane. I was approved for a 300k mortgage, I do not need to make family members responsible for my vehicle loan as well. My mortgage is always paid and on time. I called back a second time to demand they remove the hard inquiry from my report as I had no chance of being approved under their bogus undisclosed requirements. The second representative informed me the first representative was incorrect about the ‘older that 7 years’ excuse I was denied for?? That they do in fact do classic car loans. The reason he gave was they were unable to value a vehicle that old. What are you even talking about? How do you value classic cars I asked? He was not sure and could not give me an answer. Again if I enter the vin number and it wouldn’t meet their requirements I should have never had the option to apply for that loan. I was approved immediately through multiple banks, so clearly there is a way to value my vehicle and make sure I can afford the payment. I don’t have an 800 credit score because I take out loans I cannot afford. The representative promised me these inquiries would not show up on my credit reports, absolute nonsense as my trans union immediately noticed, and the other two would show in time. I’m not new to manage my credit report. Currently waiting on a specialist to call me back after contacting all of the credit agencies to dispute their mistake. Do yourself a favor and pay an extra few points on the loan other than dealing with such a misleading and disorganized financial institution. Saving the frustration alone is worth a few bucks if you can afford it. Hour long wait times are normal to speak to someone. Unless these are removed from my credit I intend to spread this message far and wide, while also sicking my lawyer on them for half a day of my life lost

Sean Higgins1impossible to deal with, waited more than two months to send a piece of mail (not even call!) to let me know that the auto billing i *thought* i had correctly set up with the help of their own phone agent on their barely navigable client website had in fact not been, and that 2 payments were allowed to pass without any attempted contact until now. outright refusal on their behalf to remove the marks against my credit score after *immediate* payment of not only the past due payments but advance payment for the upcoming month upon receipt of the communication. can't wait to not be affiliated with them any longer.

Jerome Lombardo1This bank should be shut down I've been in the drive through for 25 minutes already they do not hire enough workers to even handle the normal traffic it's horrendous you change the sign and the letterhead but do nothing to fix the inadequate workers you don't even have deposit slips anymore....... Wow so now they want us to right our info on paper and give them the paper this is 2022 seriously fix your Bank 45 minutes in the drive through is totally unacceptable smh

rj berardi1The structure & format of this organization/website are designed to take as much money away from their borrowers as possible. It is an absolute joke how difficult it is to simply do something like create a recurring payment on a vehicle loan, and there is zero response by customer service. Every process here is so convoluted, it is obvious to me that they are willing to exploit people who are either not tech savvy or simply too busy/fed up to care. It seems like leaving their customers out to dry is more desirable than actually making a structure that is convenient and enjoyed by their customers. It probably has to do with the fact that everyone that uses first Atlantic is essentially forced into it with little to no choice. It is no secret way they have a 2.8 rating on Google.

August Killed October1Customer service at this location is non existent if you aren't white. They treat you as if you are stupid and unwanted, and they have no problem letting you know they feel this way. Very unhappy that I've banked with them for the past 7 years, but this is becoming unacceptable.

Jennifer K1I purchased a car back in February and got it financed through this Credit Union. Not only was I taken back by the $6.00 fee to make my payment over the phone but every customer service representative I've encountered has been absolutely miserable. I actually dread having to call in every month. I live 30 mins away from the nearest location and I rarely leave the house during this pandemic...But I can't even ask about other payment options to possibly save on the fee because every person I get on the phone has such a terrible attitude as if I'm already bothering them. After reading the other reviews, I think I might be best to look for a new place to transfer my loan to.

Nicole Schulein1My husband recently purchased a car and it was financed through this credit union. I called their member services number and spoke to Vern who had a terrible attitude that was very unprofessional. I have worked for a bank and credit union before and am currently in customer service and if I ever treated someone the way I was just treated I would be reprimanded. Word of mouth is the best way to get business these days and I can tell you already I would not recommend this credit union to anyone and am already looking to transfer my loan elsewhere if possible.
