  Please work with Ebby Halliday and Sylvia J. Smith cautiously. Carefully and thoroughly read your lease agreements and terms. I lost over half of a $1500 deposit because there was no transparency re utility set ups, cleaning fees and condo inventory management. Despite pointing out issues with my corporate rental ahead of time, after 6 months I was still charged for fixes that I'm sure the owners had planned/coordinated ahead of time with Sylvia and Ebby to get taken care of on my dime. Pretty shady business if you ask me, but a lesson learned. Best practices aren't followed here, but desperation for property in the Dallas metro area puts Ebby among those real estate companies you may have to work with. Owners and tenants just tread lightly. Do not work with Sylvia if you can help it as well. Good luck!

  I was an Ebby Halliday realtor for 6 years... Granted, this was a different space and time and our Earth's history: 1979-1985. Jimmy Carter was President, hostages were in Iran, and Ronald Reagan ( our next president to be ) was fixing to nuke Tehran and to tell all Americans that it's ok to be a capitalist AND it was okay to make money and profit off of real estate sales and values!! even when interest rates went to 16.5%, I still made a heck of a rookie agent. Ebby and Maurice encouraged me to become the Garland area spokesman for National Real Estate Week (yes it was a holiday under Reaganomics! )and I led the parade in downtown Garland. I also specialized in first time buyers for the next 5 years. A simpler time, perhaps... But the intense pride of agency, with an incredible emphasis on real estate law education, and ethics to beat the band and knowledge of the industry and market makes Ebby Halliday Realtors a standout forever in Dallas!

  If I could give them zero stars I would. I contacted this company via Zillow about a condo in far north Dallas. The only thing good about the realtor that contacted me back was that she responded quickly to all my emails (until the day we were set to see the property). We set up a time for 4/28 at 9:30. I was there 15 minutes early and went to the door, knocked and rang the doorbell no answer, waited about 5-8 minutes and still no answer so I went and sat in my car. I sent the realtor an email explaining I was here and asking when she though she would get here. No response until approximately 9:50 when she emailed back to say oops! Sorry it was leased last night. Now I can understand that properties go very fast, especially in this market but I did not receive a single phone call, email or anything. She also stated in the email that she was unable to find my contact info but when I sent here the email stating I was here it was on the thread of emails we had been discussing on beforehand and she replied to that just fine. Also, when she first sent me an email it includes my contact from Zillow which has my email AND phone number in it. I forwarded her a screenshot of that and she has since apologized but I just waisted 45 minutes to drive to the property to sit there for almost another 45 minutes just to have them tell me that it was leased yesterday. So now I lost a property that I love, waisted my gas, and my time to just drive home. So frustrating. (I apologise for any grammar or spelling mistakes I'm using talk to text on my way home and I'm angry.)
