DFCU Financial Reviews

Glasses&Tea1Not this branch but DFCU in general. I went into a branch to get ready to go on vacation, get cash and get a travel note on my card. I get to my destination a few days later, my card was declined, marked fraud and locked. So I had to call they didn't make a travel note. Got a travel note added, which has to go through approval with the card department, it is not automatic. Went to go use my card at the local target and card was declined. It's a holiday weekend so here's to hoping I have access to my money before Tuesday.

A L1You won’t get any help from customer services. No one can seem to do basic math or do anything but parrot the same lies. Won’t refund fraudulent charges.

seyed moosavi1Their bank employee (Brionna S), ordered food from door dash. Then she she called door dash and claimed she didn’t get her food. This is the kind of employees this bank has. LIARS, FRAUD, and evil people work there. Do not ever go to this bank.

Kenny M2Long lines both in the drive thru and in the lobby. They only ever have two or three tellers working at any given time.

Craig LAHAR1THE ABSOLUTE WORST BANK EVER. Branches are closing, they are not helpful at ALL and many of the features they sell for "protection" are actually predatory. They are not modern in the slightest sense. A good bank can send you text alerts, will actually protect you from overdrafts and unnecessary fees, and won't authorize strange payments. Not this place! Imagine getting charged for something randomly and getting slapped with fees only to call and have a nice voice say "we can't help you. Can I offer you a loan?" Imagine trying to have the people you put in control of your cash actually try to protect it- this place doesn't do that. They prey on their customers and will charge you fees, sell you loans, and allow anything to charge your account regardless of what kind of financial situation it will put you in. DFCU your days are numbered.

I Bee1The customer service here is just awful across-the-board, they really need some basic customer service training. Some of the locations in Detroit are great but the suburban locations are completely inconsiderate, rude, and uninformed. Don’t try calling in to customer service, that’s even worse. In addition to that, you can’t get a loan to buy candy bar from this place. I was approved for a quarter million dollar mortgage from another bank but I couldn’t get approved for $5000 auto loan from them. I will be closing my account and finding another credit union. I am done with DFCU and their attitudes.

Heba B1Manager of this branch is petulant and inconsiderate. Will make a simple transaction unnecessarily difficult. Refused service to a loyal dfcu customer and created barriers to depositing a check when no such barriers existed in the first place. Please avoid this branch at all costs.

Kathleen Konkel5Their ATMs are always up and running...I have yet to drive up to one only to find it out of order. One of the first institutions to add the security chip to their debit/credit cards. I have always preferred credit unions to banks. This credit union is exceptional. We have our checking, savings accounts, and also our mortgage loan here. The service is professional, prompt, and exceptionally friendly. I will always be a happy and loyal customer here!!!

Dave Sullivan2If you have a debit card I strongly recommend you do not use it with these guys. I had my card skimmed and $500 taken out of my checking account. Now DFCU told me it'll be 10 business days before they can give me my cash back. Unbelievable. American Express doesn't pull this crap.
