  The staff and managers at the De Vargas branch are a model of service and courtesy. This being said, the services rendered by the main office have recently degraded. Long waits on phone calls, staff not knowledgeable or plain rude (one hung-up on me today), the website states that replies to emails may take two days, charges of 50 cents per check when ordering checkbooks, awkward website, etc. It seems that there is a problem at management level. Again, staff at the branch is great.

  I used to think much higher of DNCU but the drive thru banking lines are atrocious. I’m not sure if their San Mateo location only has one person at the booths, but I can expect to sit in my car for 30-45 min or more to deposit a check. I wish they would hire more people to work the drive they lines, or find people to work for them who can keep up. I deposit checks for my boss at multiple banks, and DNCU is the one I dread most, due to the wait time.

  I love credit unions and have only banked at credit unions since turning 18 because ,for the most part, they have the best interest of the community at heart. Del Norte ,on the other hand, acts more like a for-profit bank, they are predatory and lack transparency. I honestly wouldn't waste my time with this institution. There are so many other better credit unions in Santa Fe/New Mexico. There customer service representatives are respectful but the managers are incrediably rude. I was recently charged with two overdraft fees when I had enough money in my account to cover the charges. When I challenged the unreasonable/fraudulent fees I was avoided. I had requested a time in which I would be contacted so I could arrange my breaks around them and was told that I would get a call sometime before 5. When I was finally able to access the Member Service Center Manager by phone she was incrediably condescending, she spoke over me, and when I got fed up with it and started to do the same back she got so heated with me she hung up!! I honestly have never had such a horrendous experience with a credit union in my life. I would highly recommend exploring other financial institutions instead of Del Norte Credit Union.

I’ve been notified by our call center manager that when you spoke to her last that your fees had been waived and the reason for the fees were explained to your satisfaction.   This DNCU has great customer service! I like the online banking set up, but the one thing missing is Zelle. It would be nice to be able to send money quick to my family, instead of having to wait 2+ business days.

  I have to say, I am very impressed with del norte as a credit union, especially after having been a member with Nusenda CU for the past seven years, and after having the urge to change banks and try something new. And I am quite impressed and happy that I made that choice. After signing up for my Del Norte Checking account online, Del Norte's Cerrillos branch assistant manager, Luis Rosales, made me feel warm, welcome, happy, and encouraged to be a member with Del Norte. Thank you. Likewise, Del Norte's Eden Martinez, and this branches branch manager Alanna, also deserve praise due to their customer service. They both made my experience working with Del Norte exceptional wounderful! Thank you so much for all that you do on a day to day basis to help members.

  No longer allows shared branch banking which is a benefit of credit unions. Claims that they were too busy with other CU customers. When I went in no one was there and tellers were talking amongst themselves. Disappointing policy.

  Stephen, we appreciate your feedback. We are still members of the shared branching network and our members can continue to conduct Del Norte business at other shared branching Credit Union offices. We are limiting our guest member services at some of our locations because of wait time complaints from our members. We still offer guest member services in our lobbies at our Midtown @ San Mateo location in Santa Fe, as well as, our two locations in Los Alamos county.   Well, things happen, but their customer service is open to reason and worth contacting whenever you have an issue. They came thru for me and I appreciate doing business with them. Therefore I raised my review from 2 to 4 stars.
