W S2Unbelievably difficult to speak to customer support. I'm done with this bank, through the app my balances jump around and don't even make sense transactions history gets juggled around, pending credits appear then disappear and worst of all the bank is more interested in backing the merchant rather their own customer. Goodbye ccu see you hell

Brent Kuffell1Been banking here for over 10 years, somebody fraudulently used my debit card number to make several hundred dollars in purchases through my account. I contact Consumers for assistance, being they could very easily see these did not follow my purchase or spending patters and had all been made in a 5 day period. They proceeded to charge me 6 different overdraft fees without ever contacting me regarding how strange this was that my account was being overdraft. Then when I contacted them to dispute said charges I was advised they wouldn't help me and that I needed to contact the businesses where the purchases were made myself to dispute the charges; which if you've never done before is extremely challenging as the businesses don't want to refund you the money. They also ask for purchase numbers or order numbers that a person who didn't make the charges could possibly even have. The only refund I was able to get so far was from Netflix which was the only company that seemed to care, even when Consumers didn't. Forgot to add i was on hold with consumers as their online chat employees couldn't assist, they didn't tell me what button i needed to press when i called their automated system either so i was guessing as none had an option to report fraud. The employee also had major attitude when i asked her how i go about getting the overdraft fees removed after i call all the businesses to get refunds, she rudely just repeated that i needed to call the businesses myself first to seek a resolution and then i could call them back later. Consumers you should probably review this call, as she needs more training. Furthermore if you don't have a big enough fraud department to handle you're clients needs, just let me know and ill be leaving your institution and going to a bank that cares and has enough money to handle 10 fraud transactions.

Adabelle Zagal1I have had an account here since I was a kid and never had frustrations with this place until this year. The lobby is close and still only 2 tellers work at the drive thru with all lanes open. Even on the weekend. I understand that people will go on the weekend, but shouldn't they schedule more tellers then for the busiesy days? I barely go this location now and go to Gurnee instead. If this location was its own bank, I would have closed all my accounts with it.
Response from the ownerHi Adabelle- we appreciate your membership and thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We understand the frustration with not having easy access to our lobby and the longer than normal wait times at our drive up. Fortunately, we have additional support coming to our North Waukegan location over the next few weeks. Information about the reopening of the North Waukegan lobby should be available on our website soon after that. If you have additional feedback to provide CCU, we encourage you to complete the quick feedback survey on the footer of our website. Warm Regards

Stacy Ray-Duty1I have been a customer for 20+ years with several accounts. I called to receive a bank statement that needed to be signed, dated and stamped for the purchase of a new home. I explained the urgency of the request considering the closing date was quickly approaching. They kept telling me to access e-documents to get my statement. I had to explain several times, to several different people that e-docs aren’t signed, dated and stamped so that would not work. Finally, a lady tells me she knows what is needed and assured me I would have the docs emailed to me via online banking within an hour. That was 24 hours ago. Note, I spent 30+ mins on the phone for this request. I call back today, spent 45+ mins on the phone, only to be told my request yesterday was closed with a note stating I needed to use e-docs. Once again, I had to explain what I needed only to then be told I had to wait 24 hours as I was one of many in the queue. There was no consideration given for the urgency nor the time I had to spend explaining to multiple people what was needed. Their response was that if I wanted it quicker, I needed to go into an office. I live in Texas so going into an office isn’t an option. Poor service!!

Preston p1Incredibly slow with a staff who are too new to know anything. Went inside this branch to open two new accounts and give this community location business. Wrong choice since neither the teller nor the lady opening up new accounts knew anything. I waited in line for 30 minutes since they only had 2 tellers handling the line of 10 people inside and once I got to the front of the line, the lady was clueless on what she needed to do and instead told me I needed to come back after she got my information. I was then contacted by the new account lady who was also new and didn't know what she was doing. Once we finally were able to open up one account, she was not helpful at all in giving me my account information, which should have been given. So long story short, I didn't open up a second account and told my family members who were going to open accounts as well to not waste their time. Instead we will be taking our business elsewhere since the long lines and new/inexperienced staff aren't worth the hassle. If I could give zero stars, I would.

Melissa A5Why is everyone giving negative reviews? I went yesterday at around 4:58 to the drive thru, I expect them to deny me because it was about to be closing time. Instead, I was helped very quickly and they were supper nice and patient. There was a long line too, I appreciate the workers managing the drive thru!

Athena Lloyd1Let me just start by saying consumers is FRAUD! I just recently got noticed by email about a enotice I looked into it and I had charges so finally they unblocked me. And I go in and see late fees . All the way back to September . When I set this bank up In 2013 it was never told there were two accoint numbers so my my direct deposit was going in savings when I selected checking . So this whole time I thought I had money in my account . I kept getting locked my online banking but I never got a email or a letter or a call telling me I’m getting fees stacked up pretty high . That’s wrong ! I want my other half of my money back . Pulled out 1,000 in fees . Only refunded 505.00 . Anne is a horrible manager she never once wanted to hear what I had to say . She wasn’t gonna help me out over something that is there fault .
