Phil Englander1Completely disappointing experience! I have an account with a Co Op Credit Union in CA. I went in to this Connects branch (which I have done in the past) to deposit a check from Navy Fed CU. The teller accepted my deposit and handed me a receipt. 20 minutes after I left, I received a phone call that they made a mistake, and since it was a 3rd party check (even though it was properly endorsed) they could not accept it, and wanted me to return to get the check. I spoke to the branch Manager Brandy? Who was rude and condescending. She continually cut me off and reviewed to let me speak! I went back, got the check and drove to Richmond, to a Navy Fed Branch. They immediately turned the check into a cashiers check and then I went to Henrico Fed CU to deposit it..which went smoothly. Connects can take a lesson from other financial institutions and learn to help their customers! I won’t be back ever again! I can use Call Federal up the street in the future.

It was our error to have accepted the check at all due the rules and procedures in place for shared branching transactions. Having the check converted to a cashier's check appears to be the remedy for the situation. We will work to improve our diligence and oversight with these types of checks in order to curb the added inconvenience that was placed on you.
