William Carter5Lamar was a tremendous help during the process of finding my first apartment. He was hands-on and showed a genuine interest in the well being and safety of my family while we searched areas and places for me and my two boys to relocate. There were some bumps in the road which was really out of his hands, but he did the best he could to make things right and get me in a place I was comfortable. I've been in my place for 3months now and it is great. some areas of improvement but the property manager Mahera (sorry if I spelled the name wrong) has taken great care of all my concerns. I locked my self out within the first week and she personally came down from the office to assist so I could get to work on time. She is is very good with her response time with maintenance issues.

Cristian Arauz1I can’t wait to write a review and tell all my friends about the amazing work Claudia did. My family and I appreciated all the communication that we received. It’s unfortunate that now my family might end up homeless, but Claudia was amazing. She made me feel like family when she told me about her travels while my family fate lied in her hands. I’m so happy that she took some time for herself. My family also took some time to relax, and we are humbled by the opportunity to be homeless. It really puts things in perspective. ☺️ But on a real note, please DO NOT do business with this Company. Having to constantly call and leave messages and try my best to apply for a property just to be declined 2 days later and not even a PHONE CALL, she sent a text message and not even from her, from a robot saying sorry application denied but check out other properties..let us know instead of calling us and explaining the situation and helping us with other showings and properties. Claudia was awful. Not even her assistant Angelica could help us one bit she just showed us the property and was very awkward at that...save your application fee and go with others that know what Customer Service is.

Cherisse Peterson5My experience with community property has been very positive. Rajen was amazing! I was relocating from the Seattle area to the Bay Area and he was dedicated in finding me an apartment within my price range. He was very flexible with me sending people to check out properties for me and made the process go very smoothly so I could have it all set up by the time I arrived. Claudia walked me through all of the paperwork and answered any questions I had. When I had an issue they took care of it in a very short time frame and followed up the next day to make sure it was resolved. Also, the online payment system is very user friendly and quick.

kehinde salter5My experience seems to be quite different from everyone else. I have been renting my home for just over 2 years now, and everyone who works with the company has always been nothing but nice, courteous, and very professional with me. While my home has needed lots of repairs, everyone I have dealt with on staff was always quick to return phone calls, and send out maintenance to fix whatever was wrong. Unlike the assumptions made about CRPM's tenants that I have read in other reviews, I am not on Section 8 and I work for a living. However, after sustaining an injury this past August, being unable to work for 2 months, and my workers compensation being denied, I fell behind on my rent. I let Community Realty know right away what was going on, and they were very understanding. They were never rude to me, allowing me to pay what I could, when I had it available. They would call to check in with me and see what the status of my situation was, and I really appreciated that. Thank God I was able to contact Season of Sharing, who after reviewing my case and all of my supporting documents concerning my injury, agreed to pay off all of my back rent. I just started back at work this month, and Jessica from CRPM spoke with Season of Sharing to let them know just how behind I was, and that really helped. I really appreciate Community Realty Property Management, and enjoy renting from them.

Sarah Len2This is the worst property management company I have ever dealt with. After a nightmare 1.5 years of renting from them I have final moved, but 1 month later still waiting on my deposit. They don't return calls, don't fix anything, and are overall totally professional. They even tried to randomly bill me $400 for nothing. It took me weeks to get it cleared up. Every time you call they tell you someone else needs to answer your question and then they either put you to a voicemail, which never gets returned, or they put you on hold for some endless amount of time. Josh and Chris will avoid doing their job by any means. They get attitude when they are obviously in the wrong. Constantly change their story. I could not be happier to have left this company, but they seriously need to be shut down. What they are doing is illegal. My advice is to avoid them at all costs.

Juhee So5Lamar Johnson helped us find our new home. They have online payment system that is very convenient. You can make a request for repair through it. My advice is to try to speak with the same person throughout your application process. Lamar was great at explaining every question we had. The property was maintained well. We have some issues called today and Tony, maintenance manager, helped us right away. Looking forward to living life in our new home. Yay-!

Lauren Wilkinson1Worst reality I’ve ever worked with, hands down. They took over two weeks to let us know if our application was approved. They said that the unit was ready to go, but there was no sink, and bad plumbing. They are nice enough face to face, but only return calls about 50% of the time. A very, very frustrating company to work with.

Pat Suzor1I'm not usually one to just go online and bash things they hate, but when you have an extraordinarily bad experience, sometimes you just have to share. We were looking to rent a property of theirs that had just gone on the market. It was a nice property in West Oakland that was foreclosed and purchased for peanuts by an owner who deals with this agency. We were the first people to look at it and felt pretty confident we could make it happen. Margie, the agent in the front office who handles the "initial processing phase," was always nice to us and very confident we could "work something out." The rent was to be split three ways. Our appointment started off on a bad note because it turned out the owner had raised the rental price by $200 that day. What was once a pretty solid price was now a little ridiculous and seemed like the owner was making the place unavailable to anyone who wasn't a yuppie couple. It also turned out that the owner converted the back laundry room and bedroom into a seperate "apartment." Money money yum yum. Our case was complicated by a few things. Nothing too serious, as long as we proved to them we could wave some money in their face. I had just received my green card and am close to being hired for work. I had no current paystubs which would obviously make it pretty hard. But I printed out bank statements for them. And I always planned on telling them I could pay up front my share of at least half the year's rent. Margie, who was always courteous and nice, passed our case on to Juan. After waiting maybe another half an hour even though he was not busy with anyone, we met Mr. Juan. Juan worked in the back of a separate building in the back. It was a tiny little room with no natural lighting. We explained our case to him, but he felt obligated to play the "Bad Cop" and talk down to us and make things complicated. I was never really worried because I knew I could pay my portion for at least half the year's rent up front. But he made outrageous demands for a huge deposit, in the range of $4000. Deposits are never guaranteed to be simply "deposits" in this world, so giving that kind of money away to someone we didn't know was out of the question. Juan was just very rude and tried to pigeonhole us as "untrustworthy" just because he was afraid of looking like he was bad at his job. After half an hour with Juan, we were sent back to the main office and sat around for maybe 2 hours while they all ran around doing different things. After 3 hours, they eventually told us the owner turned us down. After paying for the credit checks and putting up with their smoke and mirrors of being actual real estate agents, we were left with a bunch of crazy accusations by the owner about our bank account activity. They made us feel like we were on section 8 and food stamps. I know that that probably makes up for 95% of their clients from what we could see, but they just couldn't get out of their judgmental frame of mind to look at the truth and negotiate like professional agents. There was just some kind of negativity and unwillingness to negotiate between Juan and the owner that just made me feel very terrible. Not to mention how extremely SLOOWW everything was. We were in there for over Three hours. The day was nearly over, Margie had already left the building, and I was left with a huge waste of time and money to try to justify to myself. I would recommend this place if you're on section 8, because that seems about all they are qualified to handle.

Joseph Gonzalez1Moved in early September. Some very important repairs were in need of being made. I was given dates and times when to expect the repairs to be made and they were never done. It has been nearly three weeks now and I am still waiting on the repairs. The promises were made and the staff somewhat friendly, some a lot more than others but the professionalism of committing to contractual terms is very poor. I am very displeased with the experience so far.
