  Cohen Brothers need to get on their website that their location on 90th and commercial is closed. I called, letting them know I was on my way with my item, they okD me, only for me to take a long trip up there to find out that, that location was no longer open. TF !!! Why wouldn't they make me aware of that over the phone, when the number I dialed, was supposedly to that commercial location??? I called back when I got there, only to be told oh, yeah, that location isn't open any longer. We're in calumet city now. That should have been on the site & told to me when I made the first call.

  Very hospitable environment. Has a huge inventory at reasonable prices. I was in a bind for cash and they bought a pair of speakers from me. They were going to give me $25 for them. After testing the speakers they went even higher and offered me $35, but wait that's not it. Once i got to the window to pick up the cash I was asked if i had $5 change. I didn't and told the guy at the window no. He says cool no problem and gave me $40. That alone has won me over as a customer for life. This place is def worth paying a visit. Jewelry, Musical instruments, video game systems and games, bikes, tools, you name it they've got it. Visit was a 5 star experience for me.

  I wanted to like this pawn shop so badly because it was local. However, after examining my laptop and approving me for 200.00 I said great! I was told come back 1:30-2 o clock.. so I did. “Sorry we have no funds, come tomorrow around this time we got you.” Come the next day.. still this business has no funds.. really??!! Just tell me NO and I would have been on my way. Now I can’t help my fiancé out with what I needed. Really sad..

  I have for a long time stayed away from pawn shops because I felt owners didn’t care about the people just their product and being able to make money off of it. That is until this past weekend when someone broke into my car and stole my Canon t5i camera and headphones. Not know what to do, my husband suggested stopping by the pawn shop to see if the crackhead thief was crazy enough to try and pawn it the next day. I decided to go into the Cohen Brothers pawn shop because they are the only one in the area. I walked in looking to talk to the manager to explain what had happen and what was stolen. I could see the frustration on his face and at that moment he TOLD me why owners get frustrated with people in my situation. He could have just left it at that but instead he walked me to a corner and spoke to me privately and gave me full details on what to do and how to do it. Information I didn’t know but needed to know to make things work for me. I can’t remember his name but the husky gentleman with the beard is AMAZING! Fast forward to the next day after I filed my police report and everything, I called the shop back to speak to him but instead I got Zach(i believe that’s his name, the younger son) I explained to him i was in there yesterday talking to his brother and how I Files my report. Zach was kind enough to write down a description of the camera, the bag and the equipment inside along with my name and number to contact me in case the idiot thief decided to come in there with it. He’s Awesome. At this point I just want to catch the criminal and be able to download my church service from the SD card in the bag lol. This is a family own business that actually cares about people. They changed the way I think about pawn shops I think I’ll definitely be buying from them in the future.

  Don't waste your time or effort coming here. Called ahead to see if they would take my brand of tools. After they said yes, had my wife walk in while I stayed with my kids in the car. Apparently, after having to tell them that I was her husband(not sure why that mattered) she couldn't get a $20 loan but the guy behind her got $45 after she left, which I overheard after I decided to walk in myself. They told me they had no funds and I left. I will not be going back and I WILL be contacting the BBB and other resources. Completely disrespectful to my wife and completely unprofessional.

  Great customer care service and friendly employees. Very reasonable on prices and sales. Also the home speakers and receiver that I purchased from here works as if I bought it brand new so go check this place out ASAP. I definitely recommend this place as one of the best pawn shops that I've ever been to. Thanks guys 👍👍👍👍👍

  I called around for a TV and landed at this place. I loved it! Their prices are reasonable and quality is good. I went for a 32 in and came home with a 42 for the same price with free movies. I am currently at home watching it now. The employees are very nice and will work with you. I will return!! Thank you guys!

  I've never heard of a pawn shop not having money in-store! However that is always the case for Cohen's. Not an over night fix (two weeks later) same issue. Take your business else where.

  i understand all of that but y keep having me come back to the store and y’all knew my laptop wasn’t going to be ready. It’s been 4days goin on today I been waiting on my laptop and I never showed disrespect toward u guys and y’all told the police y’all were banning me so how can I even use that store credit?? All I wanted was my laptop or my money back and you guys making it difficult

  We apologize that you are writing this review especially after the number of times that I have personally gone out of my way to assist you. I have personally helped you out on separate occasions other than this laptop. But I understand that you would have liked us to work on thanksgiving however I felt it more important that my employees had the day off to be with their families. I explained that multiple times before you had to be removed from my location by the police. We understand your frustration but we are working diligently to assist you and the other customers that happen to come into my store. Please understand that with the holidays there are other customers who need help too, not just a laptop purchase. Once again I am sorry you feel this way however your $125.00 in store credit was issued to you and will never expire, is good at any one of our three locations, and is usable on gold purchases. We have your number you left with us and we will be calling you as soon as we get a hold of our computer guy. I hope that in the time of the holiday spirit that you will change your mind and smile.   These guys are great! In an emergency I've had to take a couple things here and they've always treated me with the utmost respect and professionalism they're very friendly even bought a couple things at their store and their prices are wonderful!
