Chase Bank Reviews

Darren M1I generally try to leave some space between particularly troubling situations and leaving a review, so I can process what took place and decide if leaving feedback is worthwhile. It feels worthwhile and necessary in this situation. I'm an African American professional--a physician. It was an 85 degree day and I was wearing some of my favorite shorts and a polo. I walked into the branch to have my recently deceased mother's accounts closed. When I walked in, there was a group of three white male employees huddled near the back of the office area talking amongst themselves. For some reason, they all seemed reticent to help me. One of them seemed to be reluctantly willing to help me with the request. But not before looking me up and down and smirking. He prefaced that these matters are rarely settled simply and that I should not expect funds. (that was a weird thing to say before even looking up the account). When he looked up the account, he determined that the death certificate showed by my sister days prior had not been processed and that I would need that documentation as well. He said, short of calling the president of Chase, there's nothing he could do. And that he could not change the rules just for me. He was snide. He was rude. His name is DAVID HUSSAR, and he deserves to lose his job with the way he talks to 15-year customers. When he refused to help me further, he walked me to one of his female coworkers of color. She was kind and empathetic, and she made the difference. Chase needs FEWER DAVID HUSSARs among its ranks.

David Johnsen5I needed to cash a third party check drawn on a Chase account (I don't have a Chase account myself). They served me cheerfully with no hassles. There were several windows open and I only waited a minute. There was a fee, but my credit union was going to charge just as much and make me drive to the suburbs to deposit in person.

Jasmine Richmond1Very rude encounter upon my arrival to the branch. Instead of a welcoming greeting a woman asked me “do you bank with Chase?” as if I was in the wrong place. I will be reaching out for further review.

Brittany D5Excellent customer service! Everyone who works here is so friendly and accommodating. We called ahead to make an appointment for a notary service. The lady who answered the phone was extremely helpful in setting up a prompt appointment for us, and walked us through the process so we knew what to expect and what to bring. Once at the store, the notary saw us right away. He was super friendly and the process was very quick! I really appreciate this bank offering this service for customers.

m Trigoso1Trying to open up a simple checking account and it would appear my identity has been stolen. The woman helping me was extremely dismissive and I told her I'd come back with the physical copy of my documents as proof of my identity etc. She continued to insinuate I was lying and was trying to open a fraudulent account. Considering I'm to be a future customer of this bank I find it completely inappropriate that I was accused many times of not having valid documentation and told to "calm down" when I heard my information was being used potentially maliciously and was obviously upset by this fact. Not sure whats in the water at this branch but I'd do anything to be able to open my account at another one.
