Chase Bank Reviews

Christian Beard1This branch downtown Ithaca on state street is the worst. Refused to notarize a document because she was busy. The bank was empty. We were there when it opened. Literally no one was there and notarizing a document takes 60 seconds. Closing our account and taking our business elsewhere.

Aditya Ravi5I stopped by at Chase earlier today to setup a bank account. Sarah helped me with all the necessary paperwork and formalities in creating an account as an international student. She also walked me through the different account options they offer and provided suggestions on what would work best for me. She was extremely patient and made it to point to clarify all the questions I had. Overall the entire process was fairly straightforward and wonderful experience.

Natalie Katz1STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM CHASE AS YOU CAN!!! I have an account with chase, and we are in the beginning process of trying to buy a home and pre-qualify for a mortgage. At the moment, we are shopping around with different lenders. When I spoke to Chase, with Linanne, I told her very clearly on the phone twice!!! that I did not want my credit report pulled because I don't want it to ding my credit report. The next day, she called my husband and went behind my back and asked him if she could pull the credit reports. With him knowing nothing about this, he said yes, and she pulled my credit report. I was obviously very upset about this, and called her manager. Her manager assured me that it would have only been a soft pull and not affected my credit score. Well, lo and behold, I get a notification from chase that someone has pulled my credit report! I call and find out that it WAS a hard pull, and my credit got dinged! Honestly, this isn't the first time I've had problems with Chase, and won't be the last. If you'd like to deal with an honest institution that doesn't have slimey workers, then look elsewhere!

HaeKang Yang (HaeKang Yang)1They look tired and wanted to go home asap. Even though official closing time is 6PM, they started to close from 430. I waited 30 mins to see them to open business checking account. Things got complicated and they become very aggressive and rude because they wanted to go home. I have been using chase longer than 10 years. I think it is time to switch to different bank. It was not good experience. Don't go to this branch.

Todd Saddler1I had a Chase bank credit card for many years. When I discovered that JP Morgan Chase is the worst financer of global warming on our dear planet, I decided that I didn't want to be complicit with my own destruction anymore. I went into our newly openned local branch in Ithaca to bring up my concern and ask that Chase change it's investment policy. I was told that they were not going to discuss this with me. When I brought a petition signed by many local residents expressing our concern, the bank staff refused to accept it. I eventually decided I was going to close my credit card account because I was getting no response to my concerns. They had a security guard at the door to bar me from entering the lobby. Please note that I, and my fellow activists, are absolutely committed to nonviolence and pose no threat to anyone. They told me that even though I am a client of Chase bank, I could not come in to do business, and would have to close my credit card account online. I spent at least an hour on Chase's website; there is no way to close a credit card there. I called the customer service number on the card and there was no option to close an account or to speak with a human being. One day I went by the branch and saw a sign in the window specifically stating that there are credit card services available inside. I did manage to get inside the lobby to close my account. Then I was told that they couldn't do it today because the branch had been closed because it was filled with protesters. We spent the entire day inside the nicely appointed lobby, trying to get a response to our concerns about Chase banks investments in fossil fuels and other projects which are violating the rights of indigenous people around the world. For example, Paolo Paolino Guajajara was murdered after trying to protect his Amazon rain forest home from illegal logging that was financed by Chase bank. While we were in there, I managed to pursuade the branch manager to help me close my account, on the basis that if she didn't, I would have to keep coming back. She was able to use a special code to get someone on the phone that could close my account. I was also able to tell that person why I was closing the account. Eventually, the bank called the police and had us arrested for criminal trespassing. On the plus side, I will say that the bank staff remained more or less courteous throughout. A few days later, Chase bank announced that they were going to stop investing in some of their most egregious activities like drilling for oil in the arctic. Even if they do follow through on this promise, they remain the worst financer of global warming on the planet. I hear that Chase is now buying up stock in fossil fuels, since these risky and unsustainable businesses are going bankrupt because of Covid and the price war. Chase bank deserves to have its corporate charter revoked and its assets liquidated and distributed to the victims of its investment projects. These include many indigenous people, and really all of us on earth who are being harmed by global warming. If you think Covid is bad, just wait until global warming really kicks in. Global warming is not someone else's problem; we are all in the same boat.

David Cohen5New branch and rare to appear in upstate NY but it’s about time. Branch looks really cool and aligns with the more modern branches now appearing across NYC.
