Casebine Community Credit Union Reviews

Noa Schmitz4As far as financial dealings, I’ve always had a good experience with this credit union. Their covid policies are very specific. They only allow specific types of masks and they limit the amount of change that can be counted. Also the change cannot be in a personal container, must be in a plastic bag. They said quart sized bag. Make sure you call before you drive there to find out everything you need to know so you don’t end up making three different trips and still not have all of your banking completed.
Response from the ownerWe appreciate your feedback Noa! We're constantly working to figure out the best way to navigate a post COVID world.

Blakelan Dawn1This is probably the worst bank my fiancé and I have dealt with. They charge you fees for paper statements without telling you and EVERY THREE DAYS they charge you a extra $10 if it goes in the negatives. We never received a paper statement in the mail either so it was a complete shock to find out . Also, if you don’t use online banking, they charge you to bank with them. They refuse to work with you and this is not the first time this bank has screwed us sadly. I hope no one else has to deal with the trouble this bank puts people through and goes to a more trusted, competent bank who does work with their customers.
Response from the ownerEvery member is provided a fee schedule at account opening. Due to the ever increasing cost of mailing and printing we do charge a statement fee. Estatements are completely free, but you do have to register for online banking (also completely free) to receive them. We're more than happy to assist you in getting these services set up and work on refunding fees. Please give us a call at 319-752-8745 and ask for Matt.

Chris Hierstein1This is the single worst financial institution in Burlington. The requirement to work there is to be lazy. They shut the place down for days at a time every other week especially on the weekends making it near impossible to make transactions. I worry every time I go they are gonna be closed & I’m screwed for the weekend. Getting my account changed to another bank ASAP. Do not bank with these people
Response from the ownerChris, sorry you're having issues. We've actually expanded our West Burlington Avenue hours due to the pandemic (7a-6p Monday-Friday and 9a-Noon on Saturdays). We also offer numerous services to access your accounts (mobile banking, debit cards, etc). We are closed today and tomorrow in observance of the July 4th holiday, but again our mobile services are always available. Have a happy and safe 4th of July.

Kenny Meyer1I have not done business with Casebine personally, but my whole family has been receiving harassing calls and visits for a debt from a deceased family member. This place has no compassion WHAT-SO-EVER. They will call you 48 hours after a death to collect money from a family members debt you have nothing to do with! Their staff is extremely rude, and sent a tow truck to a family members house that lived over an hour away and knew nothing about the debt or the item they were looking for. I would remember this if you plan on getting a loan from them. They will use intimidation right after a death to try and unlawfully settle a debt, while harassing grieving family members. BEWARE!

Lisa Lensgraf2You can never get a live person and they decide who you can shop with!
Response from the ownerLisa, we are only open in the drive through on weekends and due to limited staffing don't answer phones. If your debit/credit card has been declined our fraud department may have flagged the transaction. They will contact you by text or phone call, so make sure to always have the right phone number on file. You can also reach out to the fraud department by calling 319-752-8745, choose option 2 for card services and then card fraud.

Caitlin Erickson1Go to this bank if you want misinformed by staff about loan details, payments rejected, and holds put on your card without notice. I'm having more and more issues. Keep it up Casebine, I'll take my buisness elsewhere.

Bryor McMillen5They've always treated us professionally and expeditiously with loans and accounts. Their online features with banking and signing loan documents are great!
Response from the ownerThanks for the kind words, and thanks for being a member!

Dale Denton1Lovely that they close so many of their locations without removing them from google nor informing their customers about the closures. 1/10 bank with CEFCU or Chase. Better customer service and locations that stay open.
Response from the ownerDale, unfortunately Google keeps re-adding the Des Moines Avenue location since we still own the building. We're still more than happy to serve you on West Burlington Avenue, at our Fort Madison branch, or through online on mobile banking!

Christa Burrell1Long, long wait in the drive for my checks to be deposited as he had to keep leaving window. The man did not speak to me except when I asked questions. He was rude and not helpful. Terrible service to use my money.
Response from the ownerChrista, sorry for the wait! Our drive through is incredibly busy due to the lobby closure. You can always deposit your checks in the night drop located next to our ATM, or get signed up for Remote Deposit Capture through our mobile app (go to https://casebine.com/services/rdc/ to get signed up). Remote Deposit Capture allows you to deposit checks from wherever you are and not have to wait in line!
