Capital One Bank Reviews

Tiffany Yang1Do not EVER go to capital one for anything. First off i cannot understand the customer service people because the hire people overseas for cheap. They also do not understand me, which makes it hard to communicate or get anything done. There was a pay off that happened with a car that was financed through capital one, THEY NEVER SENT THE TITLE.... its been over a month. Their system told me before i spoke to a rep that the pay off was already recieved. When i spoke to the rep i think he repeated what the automated system already told me. All i understood was "payoff recieved april 1." Which i already stated. Now we have to wait longer for them to sent the request to get the title.... 😒 if they did their job in the beginning we wouldnt have to wait for something that should of been done a MONTH ago!!!!! I asked why it was never sent and it went silent. Then he said "send the request now, it will take 1-5 business days, you need to call the DMV."

Jesse Dover1This bank never answers phone calls calls, and the Robot Operator blames the "Corona Virus~Government Conspiracy", for not being able to carry out any standard business. It gives you a "Corona Virus web site" to go to, then hangs up. Wow..., this conspiracy seems to be working very well, by shutting the economy down, disassembling our structural grid, and creating complete chaos. Capital One is just another sheep following the wolf back to its den. What ever happened to customer service being the priority above all else?

Kenneth Queen53 ATMs outside, (2 walk up, 1 drive up); friendly and attentive staff inside. Bank doesn't jump at grabbing fees like most banks. If you become overdrawn when accounts clear at 4 a.m., you have until 9 p.m. to deposit money without being charged overdraft fees. Phone app monitors balance and keeps notifications up to the minute. Great bank, great app!

Holly Karrigan1Had a deposit slip with correct account number written on slip as well as back of check and different name and Amanda deposited it in my other account. This after taking me 45 minutes to get there and waiting in line another15. Tried calling branch and disconnected twice, so now on hold for some time with their help center. Now help center says they can't help and I have to go back to the branch. So frustrated. These mistakes shouldn't be happening at a bank.
Response from the ownerThis is never the experience we're going for, Holly, and you can rest assured that we've doc'd your review to ensure that it's seen by the right folks. Thanks for taking the time to let us know what happened. ^VS

Jason Joubert1As a commercial customer, I am appalled that they have stopped offering a commercial line. When you have large amounts of cash or you need to run in and out with coins, it makes us vulnerable to theft, and it also waste our time as commercial customers because more often than not we are going during business hours. I am going to start shopping banks immediately as I have been a customer of Capital One for almost 30 years since they were Hibernia and because of this change I can't afford to waste the time while people are trying to figure out where they're sending money when I need to get in and get out.
Response from the ownerHi there, Jason - we hear your frustation here. Feedback like yours goes a long way towards an improved customer experience for everyone - consider it documented and in front of the right eyes. ^MS

Casey Ross5Opened up a checking account the other day and I was very satisfied. They were busy so I had to wait a little but I didn’t mind. Alaina helped me out and she was super friendly and knowledgeable. She was patient with me while trying to figure out my zelle account and waiting for the security codes to be sent to my phone. The account is super simple and there are no fees or minimum balance required. Super convenient location! Can’t wait to go back to deposit some cash!
Response from the ownerSound like everything's up to snuff at the Severn branch here - we'll be sure to pass this feedback to the right hands.^AS

Ms. E1This bank is full of it. My employer has an account with them and whenever I go to make change, they throw me needing an account number in my face and ask me if I have an account with them, and then it causes a delay in getting the change I need for my employer. Meanwhile, when my co-workers go to get change, all they need is an ID and then it's smooth sailing from there ((they are caucasian and I am not)) It's pretty suspicious if you ask me and a causes a hinderence in doing BUSINESS. Even my co-workers have expressed that they find it strange!! I wish I could give this place a -10 stars.
Response from the ownerThis certainly isn't the experience or impression we strive for here. While security is our top concern, we do not take situations like this lightly. We want you know we've escalated this to our research team for review. ^AJS

Liz G1Alaina who works the front has a nasty and unprofessional attitude. I overheard her yelling at the customer about keeping the session open. It was rude and uncalled for. She doesn’t greet customers accordingly. I know I’m not the only one. I overheard her co workers upholding her actions and it’s very sad it makes no sense to report a unprofessional worker now a days to their bosses. Those ppl shouldn’t have gotten treated that way. Thank God for reviews online so we can help out other customers to get the services that they need. Please go to transcontenial or down by veterans Blvd! Best Customer Service! Thank God I’m with Chase.
Response from the ownerHey Liz - This isn't at all the type of experience we like to hear about, and we don't take this type of feedback lightly. Thanks for tapping us in here - we've passed this review along to our leadership team. ^JG

Mark Sulkes1Capital One banks now demand that they scan your driver's license for any transaction. It's like being stopped on the street by a cop who demands identification. I've complained and got varying "explanations"--such as "for your security" (how, I ask) or "required by law" (what law: they cannot answer). Who would/should continue to patronize a bank that treats customers this imperiously?
