Capital One Bank Reviews

Karim Sharif1Never use their bill pay! I sent my rent check in via online bill pay, they deducted the funds from my account and halfway through the month my land lord is asking me where my rent is. I went into this branch in person, it took almost 3 hours to walk away with nothing. The made me spend over an hour on the phone to be told the check had a stop payment and that it would take a week to issue another check... unacceptable to either my land lord or I. No I've had to double pay rent, incurred an $80 late fee and I've been left with nothing in my account. They're unhelpful and when things go wrong they are NOT there to support their customers but.... they have no issue sitting on thousands of your dollars! I went home.... changed my direct deposit.... and wrote this review. Next I will close all my account. What a pain, now I have to stitch all my bills and auto debits. Never ever again with Capital One

Bonnie Poole1Not the friendliest bank in town. Went in recently to visit my safe deposit box. It was a Saturday and maybe that's why the employee I spoke with was in such a mood, but I went thinking they need to improve their customer service!

Bill G1Non-existent customer service throughout all branches. I was trying to find out about opening a CD. Called Waldorf 5 times over 2 hours, auto switchboard hung up on me whenever I selected the option to speak with someone (no message, just "click"). Tried Annapolis instead (further away), finally got through and was put on hold "for a moment". 16 minutes later I gave up. Do they think they're the only bank around? I had another account with them about 5 years ago. Terrible then, terrible now.
Response from the ownerOof - this certainly isn't the experience we strive for so definitely get the frustration here. We'll be sure to doc this experience as feedback so your voice is heard. ^AJS

Donna Powers5My branch closed years ago and started going to West St. Location. The tellers were always nice n helpful. I had a problem with my business account and they corrected the issues for me . I have no complaints of this branch.

Buddy Bella3//Update: I received interim feedback from capital One.// Arrived at Capital One at 2:20 to make an international transfer. Still waiting after 40 minutes. Now told it’s too late to do the transfer since international transfers stop at 3pm.

Grundy Mackey1The teller, LuBella, was very rude over the phone. I asked for a manager and she informed me that there was not a manager on site. I called back and left a message for Roderick Dozier and two weeks later and still no return call.

Bruce Ekstrand1Capital One turned off my debit card without notifying me. I had much money in the account due to SS income. I went to the bank, and they ended up closing my account totally, without giving any reason. Unthinkable! Beware this bank.

Karen Mitchell1My location closed so starting going to next closest which also closed. Whenever I call the service line I am told I must go to the branch which is now 45 minutes away. Today they changed my mobile deposit limit and are telling me I have to go to the branch to fix it. Time for a new bank.
