  I want to share my experience because I tried to get away from this bank but they keep on screwing me over even after they acknowledge my account has been closed for 6 months. I closed my account in April because they took so long to replace my debit card. I called on 3 separate occasions to get a new one. I was told each time that my card would be put in the mail. On the 3rd call i was told it was never actually ordered or put in the mail. I told a manager on the customer service line i wanted to cancel my account. That was in April '18. In August I received a letter in the mail saying that my account was over drafted and I owed an over draft fee. No email about the account being open. No phone call saying my account was reopened. No letter in the mail before the over draft saying the account was opened. I called when that happened and was told, "no problem we will take care of this, it must be an error on our end". Well guess what! Dont believe them! I received another letter in the mail today about a late payment on the over draft i was told would be taken care of!! I called back again. Asked to speak to a manger and was told that the woman who answered my initial call was the manager. Odd. I thought the manager would be managing the team of sales staff not answering the initial call to get my basic account info. Weird. I am so beyond done with this bank it. I will ALWAYS tell people what horrible service they have given me with Personal Banking.

  Would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend never opening any account, especially not a loan through Bethpage. Not only did I have my heloc that was paid off in November when the house was sold, but as well, unfortunately an auto loan. I paid off the full amount of my car 2 years early, in November. They keep charging me principle interest and refuse to send me the title. The amount of hours I’ve spent calling them every weekend and lunch break to have the loan closed out in full is absolutely ridiculous.

  Most unfriendly and uncaring bank! My mom passed away on July 2nd, her social security check for June was put on hold by the bank, and a negative balance generated for my dad's account. Bethpage advised us that Social Security sent them a letter to send back the payment. Bethpage sent us to the Social Security office. Social Security said they don't do that since a person is entitled to the payment for the last month they are alive and to get a letter from the bank as to why it was being held or returned. We went back to Bethpage and they said they didn't have a copy of the letter and that they would need a letter from Social Security to release the funds. We went back to Social Security (which were very helpful and understanding), got the letter and an explanation that since the Social Security Act of 1939, payment is ALWAYS for the prior month and that the funds are due the recipient in the month they were alive which was June in this case for the July payment. We brought this letter from Social Security to Bethpage and they said they would review it. To this day nothing has been done! They have effectively stolen my dad's funds that he needs to purchase food and live on for the rest of this month. He is almost 85, and has difficulty walking and has very little assistance. He lives alone. How can this bank act in such an unprofessional and uncaring manner? They are making up their own rules, and disregarding Federal law. It is the responsibility of the recipients to return funds they receive if they received them in error. This is not an error and my dad and deceased mother's account is due these funds. Not only is our family in deep grieving for my mom, but this bank has no compassion or understanding of the situation. I hope you think about your relationship with this bank after reading this. Please don't use them for your banking needs. There are plenty of other good banks.

  Nobody ever pick up the phone.. it soo frustrating. Spent hours trying to get through to someone..kmt

  Fantastic bank! The people there are so nice!
