  I love banking with Baylands. They have excellent customer service and are the best at what they do you always get a friendly face and treated with the upmost respect they really do make you feel like family here I’m glad I made the switch 2 1/2 years ago. You guys at the New Kent branch are awesome y’all keep up the great work

  What happened to customer service? Today I was in the market to open a new account. I was looking for a credit union that was close to my home and stumbled upon Baylands Family Credit Union. It seemed like a smaller, family run, credit union. After Covid-19 hit I try to seek out local businesses to support the community I live in. As I pulled into the parking lot I observed a sign that read, "open an account today." I walked in the front door and was met by two people, one was behind the tellers desk and the other had keys in their hand. I quickly realized that they both worked at the credit union so I asked if I could speak to someone about opening an account. The person behind the tellers desk looked at the other employee. As I turned toward the person with the keys in the hand they stated I'm going out to lunch, I'll be back in an hour. She added, you can go online and fill everything out, then we can call you to set up an appointment, we're just busy right now. She turned, walked out the door and got into her vehicle. Needless to say, I will not be opening an account with Baylands Family Credit Union. If you are too busy to open an account and take my money, you don't need it. If lunch is more important then a 30 minute interaction with a potential new member of the credit union, you don't deserve my business. If you are too busy to open an account that you're turning people away and telling them to go online, this is not the credit union for me. I hope you all have a better experience then I did "if" you decide to open an account at Baylands Family Credit Union .
