  Tried to use my debit card to use my debit card on Saturday evening for an emergency home repair. It was declined twice, because the bank was having “maintenance”... I had plenty of funds, but could not access them nor reach a service representative to verify through a customer service person that my check would be good. BankNewport does not provide customer service for these times...they should. That’s my money. The bank’s maintenance should not get in the way of me paying for household emergencies. Shame on whoever thought this was a good idea. Terrible time to do this during a pandemic, as well. Update: March 7th 2022…Tried to purchase an item for $7.49 and my card was declined…again!! Meanwhile, I know I have well, well, well, over that amount in my checking. When I went to have a “chat” with a representative through the BankNewport app…my app told me that I entered my password incorrectly and locked me out as I was waiting for, apparently, nobody to assist me…THEN, I found myself unable to use the app and completely locked out!! This message was reinforced by an email by the bank…which instructed ME to call THEM and gave ME instructions on how I should sort out their mistakes…Just wow!! I don’t get paid to fix technical problems for institutions that don’t have their acts together. Already, between the ATMs and the debit cards, banks don’t do as much as they used to…They’re akin to self-self gas station owners who think they somehow deserve a gratuity for watching you pump your own petroleum, in my opinion. I am so upset right now.

  Literally worst and least accommodating bank ever. Super rude customer service, and when the atm took over 60$ from me they basically told me sucks to suck. Shout out to the teller who was absolutely atrocious. Been a customer here for almost ten years...definitely closing my accounts with them.

  ONE OF THE WORST BANK!!! So sad I left my bank of America for this horrible bank! (Because it was closer to my job) I have been charged almost $1000 on overdraft and they didn't even bother to email or send me a letter regarding this important matter ( I gues this is how they make their money stealing their clients) . I went into the bank and the general manager Emily Danilowicz with the worst nasty attitude I have ever encountered told me that they do not wave client overdrafts and if I don't pay as soon as possible my credit is going to be ruined. How can they do such of horrible thing like that to a client that only have been banking with them for less than a month.😭 I believe it's the bank job to inform the clients if something suspicious or too many over draft are going on in their accounts. I'm pretty sure that no one is going to overdraw their account in such of way on purpose. I was thinking that I was using my money all this time. This is so sad that they do this ruind action to their client. I'm closing my account and will never recommend this bank. So sad😔 I thought their were a good bank but I guess I was wrong☹

  This is a TERRIBLE BANK! I got charged almost $400 on overdrafts thinking that I have money in my card and they didn't even bother to call me to let me know about this. HORRIBLE BANK, I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT'S!!! I repeated do NOT BANK HERE YOU WILL BE IN HUGE TROUBLE!!!!

  This is a terrable bank company, they do not care about their clients!!! The fee are insane high!!! And they do not even bother to inform you about your overdraft fees ... they dont even help you to resolve the issue to make it more convenient for you to pay!!! DOBJOT BANK IN THIS BANK!!! You be sorry!!!

  The bank closed while I was waiting in line , the teller took the car before me but not my car because it was passed time. Even though I waited. Trash.

  debt card got hacked and I had to pay the service fee b.c it was dropped lower then 0$ when it was hacked bulshit
