Bank of the West continues to deteriorate into a horrible unpredictable banking institution. Random branch locations close temporarily or are so poorly staffed that wait times are ridiculous. When your home branch closes and you are a small business you are forced to deal with another branch you don’t have a relationship with. I had to deposit a business check in Thousand Oaks where I do not have a relationship. The bank manager then decides to place an extra hold on your deposit which in my case extended over a weekend from Friday to Tuesday resulting in hundreds of dollars in bounced check fees that the bank will be happy to steal from you. The manager can review your banking history and see that you have deposited checks from the same client without incident but will place holds with the purpose of obtaining fees for automatic payments that are then rejected. Avoid this bank at all costs. They are unethical at best.

Just save yourself a lot of pain and never do business with Bank of the West. 1 to 2 hour hold times no matter when you call. I missed a few payments that were late. Reported correct to one agency, reported twice the missed payments to another, and twice plus another two to another one. Screwed my credit good. Wrote them two letter already, got a response they would fix it, they didn't, just changed it and made the good one worse. So sending a third dispute now. They are truly and utterly incompetent. I can't wait to be done with them so I can never return.

I would not bank here even if THEY PAID ME a $1,000 a month. The lady at the desk for opening a new account was the rudest person I've ever dealt with in a bank in my life. She could care less if I was going to give the bank business or not. To me it seems like she's just there to get a paycheck and could care less about you or the bank that gives her a paycheck.

A joke not a Bank. A ph App that does not work at all and hours long to reach Customer Service only to get disconnected not to mention the service fees for their systems which do not work.

I have a loan through Bank of the West and I can not express how frustrating it is to only make payments by check, with cash, or my account and routing number from the bank I actually use which is Chase. Bank of the West does not allow you to make any payments with another Bank's credit or debit card but they have no problems taking cash right out of my hands. Get with the times! I had over $6,000 to pay off and not once can I just make a payment online or over the phone with my debit or credit card. They truly need to make it more convenient for their customers so I don't have to make a cash withdrawal, give my account and routing number out, or have a write a check like an 80 year old woman. Again, get with the times. After a year of this I'm looking into refinancing my loan with another bank that is more accommodating.

Soudabeh Adabdar is the only one that ever Cards me to pull out my money for rent on my account. She moves really slow and is really rude to me. Someone please have her learn customer service skills. Or proper protocol. All other workers don't do this to me.

The branch seems very understaffed and the general attitude and office work behavior of the employees can be defined as lackadaisical. From a customer's point of view that sort of behavior can easily be construed as disrespectful.

You're sending mail to my address for someone who has not lived here for over 13 years!!! I keep returning them to you, telling you that they don't live here, and you keep sending them anyway! ENOUGH!!!!!!!

Had a great experience, staff very nice and helpful . The manager was very nice and asked if she could do anything for me, That is way beyond the treatment i ever received from my previous bank, chase, I think its better to stick with a smaller bank because the service you receive is far better.
