  I had opened a business checking account for my LLC in this branch four years ago, and all went smoothly then. Now i need to close that account. Of course, i understand that banks are not incentivized to make it easy to take your money elsewhere; however, I am very frustrated and disappointed that when i called to close out a zeroed-out account, I was told by Stella, who says she checked with Operations manager Doreen, that this is not possible, because I have to be present in the branch for them to verify my identity. Another employee at Bank of the West had told me two days earlier that they WOULD be able to verify me and close out the account once the last outstanding transaction had cleared. TLDR: The staff's first response is to say no to the customer, and then they double down.

  Terry (Chang) truly provides the best service I've ever had in a bank. He's personable, helpful, and honest. His service and product recommendations feel like genuine recommendations, not just sales pitches. The man deserves an award.

  Terry Chang gave superb customer service. Prior to him, I had difficulty closing an account at another BofW branch. I was so perturbed by that visir at that other location. Thank you , Terry, for all your help!

  Terry Chang, Asst. Vice President, at the Irvine, CA branch consistently gives superior service. He always goes above and beyond expectation. He is very careful, thorough and accurate with all transactions. Mr. Chang is definitely a valuable employee!

  Bank of the West was the only bank I found that offered a HELOC program that matched my needs. After being recommended by a friend I decided to swing by this branch and met Linda who was able to educate me about the program and process. Opened up a HELOC with their mortgage team and Linda and the team has been extremely helpful with the process. Highly recommend!

  This branch business specialist told me that they needed to do a site visit. I waited at my business even past hours because they said that they would be late. Without any calls or informing me, they did not even show up. I called them back, and they said they did show up but didn't want to knock on the door because it's against policy. They said that they needed to review the account. After waiting for about 5 days I called back asking what the update was for the business account and they said that the manager has to review and we'll have an answer within a day. I called the following day and the bank manager said that they don't have the resources to be able to make a decision and herself recommended that we open a bank account with a different bank if we can't be patient. I asked how long till we get a decision, and she said she doesn't know. The manager of the bank doesn't even know how much time it may take to open an account. Truly I have never met such a retarded bank staff that barely even speaks English. They all speak some Asian languages

  Bank of the west in a hole is a terrible company but this branch is by far the lousiest. I’ve been wanting to close my account for about a month now but the branch is never open In the ATM never works. What exactly do you guys do there?.

  Love the quiet and peace in this bank. And people are very pleasant and competent who will go the extra mile for customers. If you are tired of the big “blue” and “red” banks, come here and you will never go back to anywhere else.

  Very good Customer Service. Staff actually acknowledges you when you walk into the bank. If you are looking for a "small town atmosphere" with big bank options, this bank is for you. I have been very happy with the quality of service and support.

  Unbelievably terrible service! Banker lady was rude, unprofessional, and had terrible English skills! They couldn't open a CD if I couldn't provide the SSNs of all beneficiaries at time opening in the branch, couldn't print the opening statement the 2nd time after I found mistakes on my info when reviewing their spelling because they could only print it once a day! What?!?!
