Bank of the West Reviews

Lillian Stanley1Their mobile banking is horribly outdated, constantly undergoing tech support shutdowns, and hardly accurate - keep track of your accounts the old fashioned way if you don't want $35 charge. Their card service is a different support department from their mobile, which is all separate from the actual branch, so it takes forever to figure out you called the wrong number to begin with and they apparently don't talk to each other so good luck if there's an issue or you want to dispute a transaction! They claim the accounts are free, yet constantly bill $10 service charges for no explicable reason. I was supposed to have my accounts closed over a month ago. I cleared my money out of there, bringing my balance to $0.00 yet find out TODAY that they want around $75 for WHO KNOWS WHY. DO NOT BANK HERE.

spencer kimble1Bank of the West is the absolutely worst bank. They have no one on the phone to help, they don’t send out debit card replacements on time, and their services frequently stop working without warning nor explanation. They forgot my new debit card. Now I can’t access my money and all my bills have to be repaid- in a week when I finally get the card they didn’t send

Tony Palmieri1In December I opened an account with the Superior, Colorado branch. Because the branch manager, Elizabeth was offering a higher interest rate, I opened a checking account. Since opening my account with B of W. I HAVE BEEN VERY DISSAPOINTED! The fact is Elizabeth does not know how to do her job. First, she forgot to mention that my interest rate would go down (cut in half). Elizabeth lied about me getting statements through the mail. To top it off, today she hung up the phone on me. The "customer service" to top it all off is awful as well on the corporate level. I'm closing my account asap!

Amy McQuistion2Most inconvenient hours of any bank. As a 9- 5 working person, being open from 9:30 -4:00 means I need to rearrange my day every time I need to go pay rent. I am glad I am not an actual member of this bank and only need to go once a month.

Leelee Lee1If I could give 0 stars I would. I've been banking with BOW for well over a decade and the services provided (as well as the customer service) have continuously gone downhill. The final straw that prompted me to write this review pertains to the experience I had last night (8/30/18). I went to deposit checks that were made out to me and my husband (wedding checks - so they said "and" on them). We both endorsed them, and were just trying to deposit them, no cash withdrawal. He had just taken some of the checks to Bank of America and had NO problem whatsoever depositing them in to his account. Needless to say BOW did NOT want to deposit these checks. The attitude from the asian lady working was about the rudest I've ever experienced. I work in administrative reception so am fully versed in how to handle customers. She said "Ummmm these are made out to 2 people" I said "yes, I know, we both endorsed them." She again says "ummm well you aren't both on the account" So we had to go inside, they fingerprinted him, and then finally deposited the checks. She then stupidly asked if we wanted to open a joint account w/ them. LOL not in a million years... this place is a joke. They don't accept coins anymore either. Take your business elsewhere, or risk dealing w/ RUDE asian lady who needs a lesson in customer service. She is ridiculous and I can't believe she has a job. I'd fire her immediately... rude, rude, rude. I'll be sure to let everyone know what a joke of an employee she is.

Jacob Olson5So far so good, I have had a great experience with Bank of the West. Their ATM also lets you withdraw in increments of $5 which is way better than most other $20 ATMs.

chris garza1Been a customer for years with Bank of the West in New Mexico. I moved to Colorado and convinced my fiancé to leave his bank and join Bank of The West...BIG MISTAKE. I have tried to close my prior accounts for over 2 weeks since we consolidated into one account.... I keep being told it is in process---with no other assistance. Have visited the bank 4 times now...I am going to close the new account we opened as well as all other accounts that have mysteriously remained open and racked up Bank of the West charges...funny they keep accounts open after many attempts to close them so they can charge customers fees. Unfortunate service from a bank I used to trust. Move on from Bank of the Mess (West).

katie V2Loved the bank...then they changed their hours. Closed at 5 pm on a Friday? Open at 9am? Can't swing by on the way to work or from work. These are the most ridiculous hours I have ever seen. Who came up with this? Struggling so bad they have to shut down branches, but make it so the customers we do have left are inconvenienced even more.

Megan Setliff1This is the worst bank I have ever been to. Every time I go here I hope my experience will be better but it somehow gets worse. I will be closing my account within the week. Do not bank at bank of the west.
