As I was having lunch today with a colleague who was searching for a small but reputable bank to migrate an online account to as his growing business isn't just him in his garage on weekends its now a brick and mortar shop with 2 employees, Bank of Denver has ended up on the short list. There's one nagging question...why no respond to Alexs review about the sudden departure from a long standing practice of no holds on known deposits from a long known customer?

      Response from the owner

If you would like to discuss our hold policy, please give us a call at 303-572-3600.

Things have only gotten worse from where I left off below. I now seem to be stuck in some bizarre password reset loop where I attempt to login with the new password I created from the previous experience only to be told my credentials are incorrect again, which locks me out and starts the cycle all over again. Of course the call center is closed for holidays and I'll be without the online capabilities we all need to function in the modern world for the next few days. Hands down the worst bank I've ever dealt with in my entire life. I pray the HQ's burns to the ground with all their records and they are left just as frustrated, muttering to themselves "but I just changed it. Why isn't it working!?" They are not accountable to their customers. They do not provide 24 access to a human in case of an emergency and they make mistakes. Do yourself a favor and bank with a national bank. They cannot provide the most basic account services/features I've come to expect from larger banks. They cannot scale their operations to do things like staff a 24 hour call center, and that is providing quality customer service in my opinion. Being available when your safeguards get it wrong, and they did get it wrong, that's customer service. Holding a customers money hostage is not. Not supplying a customer service number on whatever this card is that they gave me isn't either. It does however state that they may cancel or limit its use at any time though. Well let me save you the trouble by taking care of that myself. Whenever you're available of course. In the meantime I'll try to make the best of being out of town without the ability to access my money.

I have had my business accounts at Bank of Denver for over 15 years, and today I found out that my loyalty means absolutely nothing to them. Earlier today, I went to make a deposit into my account and for the first time since opening my account, I was told they were going to place a week long hold on my deposit. I make numerous similar and sometimes much larger deposits and have never had a single hold, I didn't even know that was possible on my account. I have never written a bad check or had one written to me, and the source of the money was the same as 95% of all my deposits in the last 10 years. I escalated the matter to management and they transferred me all the way to their President Lori Radcliffe, she clearly didn't care about my scenario and had the audacity to tell me that for the last 15 years her employees approving my deposits without holds have been doing their jobs incorrectly and she didn't attempt anything further to remedy the situation. I will now be closing my accounts with this bank and moving on to someone that rewards loyalty, and has more than 4 locations 2 of which are just ATM machines that are usually out of service. Small business owners, avoid this place, go to a larger more reputable institution that actually wants your business.

So many errors and problems in only 6 weeks of having an account here. No one responds to calls or emails. They don't allow anyone in to the lobby so you can't speak to anyone face to face. Makes it really frustrating when they won't contact you back. Mae, Zabeth, etc all were all contacted. I will be taking my business elsewhere...if I can get someone to actually close out account and get me a check from accounts! Is there actually a bank with worse customer service and ineptitude than this Ban?

We love The Bank Of Denver. Easy banking and great mobile app. All in all, a great local bank that works with their customers vs. customers fitting into a boiler plate template form. 5/5 would recommend for small business banking!

I am a single woman with small business and have had two accounts with Bank of Denver for maybe 7 years. They are wonderful, it's like service we all wish we could still have with any service. Real people not phone prompts. I love that it is locally owned as I suport that. At dinner the other night a man was complaining about service at a big bank and I said " Wow, I've got to introduce you to the nicest people at my Bank of Denver - you'll love them". He looked at me and said "you don't like service anywhere - so if you say these folks are good I guess you should introduce me".

They Treat ‘THEIR’ Customers very well and in a Human way, unlike Big Box Banks. If You expect them to cash in non-Rolled coins, as a Non-Customer, per a previous review I read,.....Perhaps Join as a Customer and you’ll see the difference in their Customer Service. PLUS 2% interest, Currently, on a Checking Account. Not many do that in town. Downside... without a doubt, is a lack of investment, on B of Denver’s part, regarding Online banking. It’s Old School OnLine. Great Service though and Good Products!

I ended up not needing the account I opened but had consistently positive experiences, while I was a customer. Would recommend to those who want a well-managed community bank.

Bank of Denver is a fun local bank to bank with. I have read the other comments about this bank and have to disagree with them. I lived in this area and the parking has been and always will be an issue. So when people play the "I got towed because I didn't read the signs so feel sorry for me" card, it makes me laugh. Their online services are not the best but are definitely not the worse I have ever encountered. I do hope they get a mobile banking application up and running soon.
