Bank First Reviews

Dr. John David Paul Howard1In 2020 we filled out a First Bank form to prohibit Overdraft's from occurring on our checking account. While we were in Texas for 3 weeks, our internet bill tried to unsuccessfully charge payment as it was still on file from a previous payment. The charge tried to unsuccessfully pay 3 time's (no money got paid). When we got home from Texas, our US mail had 3 "overdraft charges" of ($35 x3) $105 and the internet bill had not ever been paid. I contacted First Bank and employee Erica Gaaiswyk told my wife that "No problem, the charges were reversed". Weeks later we received a letter stating the account was forcibly closed and a collection agency had been contacted! We signed in 2020 a form to prohibit overdrafts and thus fees. So how can the same transaction electronically be run 3 times for the same $35 fee times 3 WITHOUT ANY OVERDRAFT EVER OCCURING?! Also, how can our account be forcibly closed without any consultation or signatures from either of us as spouses!? Time for the BBB to fix this and BEWARE of banking at Frist Bank & of Erica Galswyki

Jeffrey Klug-Konkel1Great bank when it was Partnership... BankFirst is a joke. I travel for work and reaching card services when fraud charges are on your card is impossible after hours. Not to mention that none of the fraud charges were caught until I noticed. In the past I’d get text messages. Customer service is often rude or transfers you to a voicemail instead of handling a customer. There are better banks!

Rick Yanda1As I write this, I sit in the drive-thru and am going on over ten minutes since I got here. An employee said to me and the lady in the car next to me, "Well-being with you shortly." After about twelve minutes, my receipt was returned to me for my deposit. The employee apologized and thanked me for you patience. At this location (Cedarburg), this has become the norm. It is often quicker to leave your car and enter the bank. The Mequon location rarely has this issue. When Bank First here in Cedarburg was Partnership Bank, we rarely had an issue. The employees were happier and the service was efficient. It felt like a small town bank. Now that Bank First has taken over, the employees seem overworked, unhappy, and the efficiency is gone. That is mainly the case here in Cedarburg and not in Mequon. One can only guess that there were cost-cutting measures after the takeover and that is the reason for the delays and lack of smiles these days. I'm not sure how much longer I will remain a customer if these conditions persist.
Response from the ownerHi Rick, thanks for sharing your concerns with us. We will look into any issues that may have caused the long wait today. As always, we strive to deliver superior customer service and never want to disappoint our customers.

Jeffrey Sergent5They are a great bank to work with for mortgages and small business loans. I have both through them and enjoy the personal experience through the process and after.

Amanda Isler1This is the worst bank I have ever banked at. None of their features work. They have so many safety features that you can’t get into your account or use your account. Checks work and that is the only feature you can count on at this bank. I have spent hours with customer service week after week trying to address and problem solve these issues with no resolve. Please save yourself time and stress and choose a more advanced bank.
