ATM Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union Reviews

Jr Co1These guys are a straight joke, they claim to be people first but instead they look at people like numbers and risk potential. I tried applying for a membership and was told that because of one item on my credit report (to which I’ve been making consistent payments on for 3 years (they admitted to even seeing my record of consistent payments)), I was not membership worthy. My family is growing and we needed a $6500 loan for a new car, I even admitted that to them, and they still turned me down and stopped replying to my emails. We make over $5k a month but I guess we’re still to much of a risk to pay them back smh. Stop lying to people by telling them you’re for the people when you don’t even give people a chance to show you that they are responsible adults that work, live, and pay what they owe.

Michelle Priebe Herber5Very friendly and helpful customer service. Opened up an account, free checking and a $10 free savings. What I mean is that it is only $10 to open a savings with no minimum balance on either accounts. This whole process took about 20 minutes and well worth your time. More personal banking controls and freedom, less corporate control and rules. Easy choice!!

M.J. Lang5I've been an Affinity member for 21 years and have worked with them on everything from cashier's CDs to home mortgage loans to solving identity theft issues. Across multiple branches and multitudes of staff, my experience has been extremely positive. I can't imagine ever banking anywhere else. (Regarding rejected applications that some have noted here: Although all banks must vet their applicants to remain solvent, I'm disappointed to hear stories of our community members being denied access to APs services. Other institutions have created modified pathways for those with subpar credit to get banking access, and I think AP should work as hard as possible to create these options. This is part of their responsibility for being a good member of our community. I invite them to reply to this message with information about these options.)

Michael Madsen5The one star review above is extremely vague, so I thought I would counter that low rating with my own review. Yes, this branch is new, but thus far, every experience I've had here has been very pleasant. They have never tried to patronize my financial acumen by attempting to "sell" me on services that are against my financial best interests (I'm looking at you Wells Fargo), nor have they attempted to "hide" charges or mislead in any way. Yes, this is a new branch, and therefore I have had limited interactions; but thus far the people I've dealt with have been personal and pleasant.

Savanna Peterson-Wahl5I decided to transfer to Affinity due to some sketchy practices from a previous bank. The staff at Affinity have been extremely welcoming and informative about how to best go about transferring, providing me tips on how to best close my account at the other bank without getting additional fees/charges. Business hours are decent. My work schedule is anywhere from 6am-11:30pm, but I can usually stop in one or two days out of the week. They are open on Saturdays too, so if I happen to have a weekend off I can stop in then too. Every time I've walked in, there have been at least two staff ready and available to help me. Some of the best features of this bank: 1) They print off free checks for you by the sheet (4 checks per sheet). I don't have to pay for a large booklet of checks that I will never use in a lifetime -- I only get as many as I need. 2) They follow through with their promotions. I signed up within a promotional period and received a free $150 deposited into my bank account after showing that I could have my income consistently directly deposited into it for 1 month. Pretty easy step, as I prefer direct deposit anyway. 3) Representatives are always available to help. If I have questions or concerns, I can go in and talk to someone who really knows the ropes! 4) Mobile App: Pending transactions are posted immediately. There is no sketchy 1-2 day lag on this like my previous bank. The app is simple and accessible, and you can see a full list of your transactions chronologically. They don't try to put your items into weird budget categories. I definitely recommend banking here!

Rebecca Ehlke1I went into there establishment today to open up a checking account. In the process of doing so, the women sprung on me that she was going to have to pull my credit in order to open an account. Ok odd, but she assured me it would only be a soft pull. Come to find out their "soft pull" knocked my credit score down 16 points and she denied me because It wasn't good enough. IF IT SEEMS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE, IT IS. DON'T GO HERE!

Jay Meraki2Calling with basic banking questions at 4:PM on a Tuesday afternoon: "Your estimated wait time is between 10 and 15 minutes. Thank you for holding." Need I say anything more?
