  Today I went in to cash a check but was told by bank teller HOLLY that my check couldn't be cashed because "there was not enough money in my account to cover the check" she also said they would have to hold the check for 10 days(never heard of this!) I said Thank you and went to another ascentra location. They cashed the check with no problem! When I came back to ask HOLLY why she couldn't cash my check she then said "it's the tellers choice" She stood there and just continued to lie to my face! I've been banking here for years and I have 4 different accounts but it's things like this that really make me want to switch banks! who wants to be treated like that? Who wants to be lied to.

  My wife and I switched from a bank to Ascentra Credit Union many years ago because of the way they treat their employees and credit union members. I was a onsite vendor for Ascentra at the time we moved our finances based on when I saw first hand how they conduct business behind the scenes. Ascentra continues to be active in our community and values their relationship with their members over profit. You can discount this review if you like because I do have a professional relationship with Ascentra. I also work with many other banks and credit unions across many states. There are many great banks and credit unions out there that I have very positive opinion of and would recommend if asked. For me and my family, Ascentra is at the top of the list.

  Incompetent tellers can't even fill out a cashier's check properly. Tried to open checking account. Immediately after stating I owned my home, guy asked me how much my house payment was. Completely incompetent. Bank elsewhere.

  As a former teacher, I had accounts with Scott Schools Credit Union for many years. I continued as a customer, after the merger with Ascentra. As Ascentra grew and developed, I wanted more involvement. Over several years, I have closed accounts with other banks and added accounts with Ascentra. I have my mortgage, car loan, savings, and checking with Ascentra, as well as having gotten a recommendation for an insurance agent, who handles all of my insurance needs, I have talked about Ascentra with friends and family, bringing a couple of new accounts your way. In a nutshell, from tellers to loan officers, I feel taken care of. Ascentra does big-bank business with an understanding, neighborly approach. Love it!

  This is my local bank with all the BELLS and WHISTLES! I have been banking here at this location for over 25 years. They provide excellent service while continuing to grow with the banking institution. It is convenient, digital, and packed with helpful bankers. 5 STARS TO ASCENTRA

  I have banked with Ascentra since their beginning and transition from Alcoa Credit Union. I absolutely love this place, everyone is always so helpful and friendly. Even when issues have happened either on their side or on mine through lose of employment or whatever they have the programs in place to make sure things dont get out of control for you. I have referred many friends to Ascentra over the years and all of them love this financial institution as well. Now that have added competitive loans for UTV like equipment I will never need another bank/credit union. Work with these folks in confidence

  We applied to refinance our home loan. It took a long time to process this but it finally got done and a closing date was set. A week before the closing I was asked for another pay stub because it had been so long. I had just gotten laid off which is not unusual for the construction industry. I had decided to retire instead. it takes a while to process the paper work so since I did not have an income I was denied the loan. I know you have rules to follow be if the process hadn't taken so long it would have been a done deal before the layoff. also the new loan amount was 200.00 dollars less a month which would have been easier to pay. I am still paying at the old rate and I have never been late. Doesn't make much sense to Leif I can still make the six hundred dollar payment it would be much easier to make the four hundred dollar payment.

  This credit union is the worst, the only time they are going to help you with anything is when times are good. It's been a rough road through this pandemic and I fell behind on payments. Then I try to go online and check the status of my payments just to find out they locked me out of my account. If you have other options other than ascentra please use them.

  I went to buy a car and they sent me to Ascentra that was the best advice I ever had. I have an account with another bank and credit union but that will change to only Ascentra in the future.

  Absolutely love this bank. The tellers are very friendly and always eager to help you in any way they can. We have used Asceentra for various banking purposes and have never had a bad experience. Great customer service!!
