  Brent Willis at Angel Oak came highly recommended from my real estate agent in Nashville and another mortgage broker who wasn't able to help me out with a traditional loan. Being self-employed, I was having trouble securing a loan, but Brent came into the picture and really did save the day helping me do a bank statement loan. This was my first experience with a home purchase, and I can't express how much I appreciated Brent's patience and knowledge as he walked me through the whole process. From getting all the right documentation, to explaining all the information, to satisfying all of the underwriter's needs, he was always quick to reply or hop on the phone and answer all my questions. I never felt pressured or that was I was being a bother...which is saying a lot given the amount of times he had to hop on the phone with me. Me and my fiancé just closed on our first home and we couldn't be more thankful for Brent and the people at Angel Oak.

  I was working on a 1031 exchange, involving a property in Nashville. For tax reasons, I needed to carry a small note on the place. I went to the bank in town that I do business with, because they were familiar with me, my line of work, and all my heavy write-offs. The loan manager considered this loan a slam-dunk. Over the next few months, we went back and forth, as the underwriters were always needing "more" documentation. Four months later, the loan manager called me back to tell me that he had exhausted every avenue he could think of with the underwriters, but they were not going to approve my loan. Now what!? I had two months left before I would lose my 1031 exchange and be hit with enormous capital gains taxes. As I was desperately trying to figure something out, my real estate agent, who had recently met Brent at a seminar, immediately hooked us up. Within ONE MONTH, Brent was able to get my loan approved, the property closed, and he saved me a boat-load in taxes. All I can say is: Brent Willis is awesome! I couldn't recommend him highly enough!

  I started my construction company less than 2 years ago and banks would not do a traditional Jumbo loan. Brent and his team was able to get us refinanced through a bank statement loan. They worked tirelessly to make everything happen though we had challenges getting our appraisal 3 weeks past due date. At the same time he was able to help us close on an investment property the same day! Miracle workers!

He was knowledgable and more than willing to take the time to explain the process, which he and his team made as painless as possible. He proactively kept me up-to-date on the progress of my loan and ensured that everything moved along as smoothly as possible. My situation was fairly unique, as I was purchasing new construction with no definitive close date.
